Any special considerations brewing with Pilsner malt?

Ok. So other than the boil controversy the rest is just normal? No special crush like wheat? Ok to do a simple 152°F 60min mash? Thanks for the replies.

Any special considerations brewing with Pilsner malt?

I have done lots of all grain brews but all with 2-row, Maris Otter, and Munich as base malt. I'm brewing this simple recipe using Pilsner for the 1st time. My equipment is a Mash & Boil (+/- 75% eff) and I use RO water and Brun Water to calculate salts. I heard about boiling for 90 minutes. Is...

Maybe. Why you would need a small accurate scale if you don’t know what you are measuring?

This. Get distilled water and spend 3-4hrs understanding BrunWater spreadsheet and buy some cheap salts. My best beers by far came out when I started doing this. Big improvement. The excel file is intimidating at the beginning but then everything makes sense. I used EZWater but BrunWater makes...

    Keg Force Carbing Methods Illustrated

I'm going to need to try this soon. I mean, I carb in 12-15hrs but some day this will come handy. As for regulator I highly recommend this Harris I bought at AHB. I had two of the $40s Tap Rites and are ok bit flimsy. When one failed at one year I got the Harris. The difference is nigh and day...

    What’s Your Oktoberfest Grain Bill?

Nah. Not even close. I brew a recipe like that from AHB. Comes out nice amber. Unless you call a Dunkel a médium amber. Not what I have seen.

    Crushing malt grains with mallet

I don’t think that would be a bad idea in this case:-D

Invest in a blow off tube!

Or use better size carboy. I brew 5gals and never had a problem with my 6.5 gal carboys. Plenty of space and no worries. But I know not all may do the same.
