    New label ideas

So I'm trying to figure out what to do for the label for my next brew. Here are the ones I've done for the previous three batches (kind of ignore the second one, special request). So the current brew is going to be a Mocha Stout and I'm completely stuck for ideas or even a name...

    Ideas for second brew?

Well, not sure if you want to do all Extract or not, but if AE is good enough, my first (only on my 3rd now) was the Muntons Gold Imperial Stout kit. A very drinkable stout. (My wife actually liked it more than Guinness and she LOVES Guinness).

    Yeast preference poll

I voted other/no preference but so far I've only used liquid yeast and it works great for me. I've used both White Labs and Wyeast (smack packs) and the only difference that I noticed was that I made more of a mess with the White Labs. I think I'll save some of the yeast from my current batch...

    Honey Golden Ale

I was planning on brewing this recipe and I had a couple of questions regarding the instructions, hopefully someone can help me out a bit... 1) Add first # of honey at the end of the boil. - Meaning after I turn off the heat? Or in the last couple of minutes? I know it probably doesn't make...

    Filtering question

Just an FYI for all the helpful folks who responded. I went ahead and bottled last night. I ended up using a plumbing screen (boiled and sanitized) which I managed to fit into the intake of my auto siphon. I really don't think it was necessary though, it looks like erbiumyag was absolutely...

    help

I wouldn't worry yet. I've only been doing this a short while, but from what I've heard/read, as long as you see SOME activity in the first 24 hours, you should be fine. Depending on the type of yeast and countless other factors, it may take a little longer to really get going. Like I said, I...

    Filtering question

Wow! Thank you all for offering advice and help so quickly! Well, no kegging system yet, so that one is out. And I already ran it through a strainer before primary fermentation, so I doubt that would do much good anyway (not that I was planning on trying). And I don't have a stainless or copper...

    Filtering question

So I'm brewing an extract w/grains version of an English Brown Ale and I've made a bit of a mess of it (I think). This was my first batch using any kind of grains (second batch overall) and I got a bit carried away with trying to "do it right". I had read that with this kind of brew, you should...

    Greetings

Hello all! Thought I'd stop in and do the polite intro thing. I'm actually in the middle of my second batch. My first was an all extract stout which turned out very nicely. The current batch is an extract w/specialty grains version of an English Brown Ale. I got interested in homebrewing...
