    New biab guy

Welcome back! I was out 20 years and got back early this year. Had no equipment and started all over going BIAB this time and has been working great. My old recipes still worked.

    Getting back into brewing

Welcome back! Was 20 years off for me and got back into about 9 months and 15 batches ago. Had a very primitive/cheap/mostly DIY "3 tier system" back then. Then did BIAB when I started all over. Cool thing is - I used some of my old recipes and worked great. Here's me 25 years younger with my "3...

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

Wait for Black Friday? Wait? What is this madness? I've already decided the next batch will be with the TC setup and I'm running a little low on Porter. Thanks for all the great responses - I will probably get heater now from what you've said

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

Have had a CF5 for about 9 months now and think it’s great; about 15 batches done. Would like to step things up with temp control for lagering, cold crashing etc. (so far “temp control” has just been keeping it inside where A/C is set to 68. WoW what a difference a mill makes

Yup. My experience as well. Use Monster Mill 2 roller with gap at .018. I run it through twice but I think the 2nd time is complete superstition but I can't let it go LOL.

What I did for beer today

Nothing wrong at all. Unless no consumption was involved. That would be the only foul.

Got out the beer gun and bottled 12 of everything on tap - IPA, Porter and Lager. Lotta work nice to have the bottles for sharing and comparing to future batches
