    Getting Ready to Bottle!

I clean as you stated but usually rinse with starsan with the vinator bottle rinser, just before bottling and place them on a bottle tree. Here is the set up that I use.:

    Brew #1 - Sanity Check

I too, am a fairly new brewer. I followed the directions on my Brewers Best Irish Red Ale to the "T". But what I have learned from reading the info on this forum, is to let the wort age on the yeast for at least 3 weeks. This is what I have been doing , and am satisfied with the results. I am...

I have had some that took a couple of days to notice fermentation. Give it at least 48 hrs. Good luck to you. Steve

Brewed my first batch last night!

Congradulations on the first one. I am new myself. You should be ok on your stir rod as long as the dog didn't lick it or it had food on it for awhile. I have done some thoughtless things during my second and third brews. Everything came out fine. Just try to learn from your mistakes. I sure am...

Lots of patience and research = a great homebrew

Congratulations on your success. I just opened one from my first batch last week. It was a Brewer's Best kit. Turned out good. Friends and family enjoyed it. I, like you, try to read all I can about this hobby. I have learned alot here. Next week I will open a Brandon O's Graff. Currently I have...

Gonna use immersion wort chiller for first time.

When you place the chiller in your brew pot, you may lose your boil for a few minutes. This happened to me on a 3 gal boil on the stove top. Good luck.

Kit for Hard Cider or Hard Lemonade?

I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but this kit provides acid blend, pectin enzyme, tannins and potasium sorbate. http://www.homebrewing.org/Hard-Cider-Making-kit_p_955.html

    wort chiller suggestions

50' of 1/2" OD refridgeration copper at Lowes for $54.00. A few dollars for fittings. I formed my coil of copper around a piece of 8" PVC pipe. I used it this past Tue for the first time on a 3gal boil and it cooled it down to 80F in about 5 minutes. Good luck on your build. It is very easy to do.
