Prototype Previews: Hopback and Heat Stick

Now that is looking nice, I can't wait to purchase one, as it should really speed up my stove top brewing time! I am also interested in knowing what cord grip you used, as I use them quite often at work, but that looks like it's a little different style.

    Dead propane tank

Even the pre-filled tanks should weigh 20lbs over the tare weight when full. The 20lb number is 80 percent full on a 5 gallon tank, they just don't fill the pre-filled tanks to the 80 percent number to make a few extra dollars on their end and to "try to keep the consumer price down..."

    Price of honey question

I don't particularly keep up with the local price of honey, but I have seen a local guy advertising 5gallon buckets (approximately 60lbs) of local honey for $300 and even that seems high to me. Heck, I have seen local honey in the grocery store for right around $5-$6/lb in 1lb containers.

Need (want?) HELP with an OLD OLD brew

Well, it is probably a tad bit oxidized, but give it a taste. At worst, it will just taste bad, and hey, you never know until you taste it. Please give us some tasting notes. Also, for the bucket, I would use hot water and a scoop or two of oxyclean free and let it soak overnight.

Wort residue from boiling in garage?

What you noticed in your apartment was probably not wort residue. I think what you saw is dirt/tobacco residue coming through the paint on your walls due to the increased humidity. I have something similar happen in my apartment's bathroom whenever I take an extra hot/long shower. The steam...

    Holding Your Own "Oktoberfest"

No strippers...hmm... How about pretzel clad beer maids? Maybe pretzel lederhosen for them?

CS Bell Co Mill? What did I just aquire?

Sounds like I have the first brew chosen for the mill Just need to get it home, de-rusted and cleaned first. You can see a couple grains of rice on the rollers for reference. I will probably try contacting the manufacturer about it after I have it cleaned up.

CS Bell Co Mill? What did I just aquire?

Well, it isn't in my possession yet, but I just purchased a mill of some sort made by the CS Bell Co. The price was way to good to pass up, even if it isn't useful with homebrewing...:D Does anyone have any thoughts on what exactly this thing is and if it will be useful in beer making? I already...

CO2 and Beer gas in hot Texas garage in summer

I usually have 10 or so 20lb aluminum tanks in my shop, which is not cooled/heated and they have all been fine for many a Texas summer. Definitely do not leave them in a hot car in the sun, but other then that, they should be fine. Look at the gas delivery trucks, some of those tanks sit on the...
