    My first recipe: Pumpkin Ale

I wish i could edit from the iphone app! Oh well I would just be careful about how much canned pumpkin you use. With 5lbs I tried to brew a 5 gal batch and ended up with only about 3.5-4 gal because of all the pumpkin that was in the wort.

    My first recipe: Pumpkin Ale

Geez I cant read my own writing! 1/2 lb crystals 60L 1/2 lb carapils 20L

    My first recipe: Pumpkin Ale

So here is the Pumpkin recipe that I brewed. I gave you bad information earlier (good thing I take these notes to remember!), I used a lot of pumpkin in the first batch and had a high ABV instead of a low ABV but it was all canned pumpkin flavor. The second had less pumpkin and a much lower...

    My Man Cave/Tap Room

Hell with a big TV, with enough brews I don't care how big of a TV you have it will either put me to sleep or be too fuzy to watch anyways! Give me the man cave/pub anyday of the week!

    My first recipe: Pumpkin Ale

Let me check my recipe tonight when I get home. I made it a second time and it was not sweet like the first batch I made. I think most of the sweetness that I was tasting came from the canned pumpkin, but I'll share the recipe later tonight when it is in front of me.

    My first recipe: Pumpkin Ale

Be careful with canned pumpkin, I used canned in my 1st attempt at a pumpkin beer and I used way too much. 4lbs of fresh pumpkin is different than 4lbs of condensed canned pumpkin. Beer came out okay it had a low ABV something in the 3% range but it was almost like drinking liquid pumpkin...

    Peanut Butter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout

I made a Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Stout using Smuckers Natural Creamy PB and had great results. Mine was an extract beer (not that it really matters I guess). I left the PB sit at room temperature on my kitchen counter and skimmed the oil off the top every day until I felt I had removed...

    Aging in a keg?

KCBigDog - I'll have to give that a try. I have plenty of priming sugar and one of those small CO2 pouring dispensers to use instead of the hand pump.

    Aging in a keg?

KCBigDog - how long did you let it sit and condition?

    Aging in a keg?

Right but you wouldnt be 'over carbing' it so i would think it would be fine until you hit it with carb psi. Dont know i havent tried yet.

    Aging in a keg?

If you google beer carbonation table or kegging table you should find that resource. There might be something on a thread here also. As far as conditioning in the keg wouldnt it work if you hit it with CO2 and purged oxygen out and then left keg sit without gas hooked up??

Peanut Butter Porter W/Powdered Peanut Butter

Oddly enough I feel pressure for some reason! I hope it turns out well because it sure did for me and I have to say it is probably the best beer I have brewed (I haven't tried all-grain yet). Cheers :mug: P.S. Ya got to let me know how it turned out for ya when it is finished!

    So who's brewing this weekend?

    Brewing a lawnmower ale tomorrow.

    Quick Fermenting Beer for summer?

I agree! I used S04 with a lawnmower ale and racked into my keg after 4 days of fermentation. Depending how hard up you are for beer you could drink within a week or less of kegging, even with the set and forget method.

    Label Removal Thread

Water and SOS pad. I'm a big fan of Moosehead bottles for two reasons: 1. The beer is good! 2. The label comes off easy when it is dry. I then throw them in a water bath and take an SOS pad and lightly remove the glue and remainder of the label. Simple and fast and the SOS pad does not...

Peanut Butter Porter W/Powdered Peanut Butter

FYI if anyones interested I just finished drinking a keg of Chocolate Oatmeal Peanut Butter Stout that I brewed using 2 jars (2lbs) of Smuckers Natural Creamy Peanut Butter. I let PB sit for a few days and gently drained off as much oil as possible before brewing. I was still worried about oil...
