    Perlick flow controls worth it?

Buy this to fill bottles and growlers with. Super simple and cheap!

    Perlick flow controls worth it?

Personally, I haven't found them to be worth it. In fact, I find them a little annoying, takes more time to pull them apart at cleaning time. Also, and maybe I'm doing something wrong, anytime I have had a foamy beer and messed with the flow control, I have not been able to get non-foamy beer...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Yeah I had some off flavors I couldn't pinpoint for about 2 weeks after Kegging. After that it got amazing.

    Kegging Kombucha

Beware. I have seen many on the forums hear say that these big mouth carboys actually suck. I guess the lid isn't airtight. Do some searches on it.

    Kegging Kombucha

My girlfriend and I started a Kombucha company in Southern California and I've been helping her get the Kegging figured out (we sell in pint and quart glass jars currently, but have many bars and restaurants begging us to keg). Here is our process, almost seem to have it perfected. Brewing...

    Grainfather!!

The only downside is safety. If you have the pump running, flow valve open, and you unscrew the arm/chiller, you'll shoot boiling wort into the sky/your face. If you unscrew with the check valve in, the ball inside will not allow wort to shoot out. If you take it out just make sure to close...

    filter kombucha before second fermentation?

I filter with cheese cloth before bottling and adding fruit. Secondary fermentation is done after a week. Carbonation is light but that's what I'm going for.

    Help diagnosing Keezer problem

I've had this GE 7.0 keezer for about a year and it has worked great...until recently: 1. Cycles more often, probably once every 2-3 hours. Didn't used to do this. 2. Compressor runs for a very long time. I have my temp set to 36* with a 3* differential . The compressor has been running for...

Question about filling keg from primary

Hehe, if you got it show it off right? Took me about a month and a half on Craigslist every day to find it. $150 but it smelled like it was used to store dead bodies when I got it.

Question about filling keg from primary

Oops I meant 1/2inch sorry. I'll have to measure when I get home, must either be 5/16 or 1/4inch I'm just confusing myself now.

Question about filling keg from primary

Rev, there are no markings on the tubing but it appears to be 5/16''. 3/16'' is way too small (tried it) and 1/4'' silicone was way too big (tried it). 5/16'' takes a little elbow grease getting on the spigot. If you look at my last picture, youll see some wort on the ground...I hadn't...

Brew Bucket by SS Brewing Technologies

So I finally got around to trying to add Velcro to the base. It will not stick to the silicone base at all. Not even a little bit. I cleaned it and dried beforehand but zero stick. I'm thinking it's the texture. Anyone else have any ideas on how to affix the silicone base to the brew bucket mini?

Question about filling keg from primary

Did you unscrew the pressure release valve before transferring? If that is screwed in, the liquid won't flow. If could have been hops though. I use a Muslim bag for my dry hops and I didn't need to remove it before transferring which was nice.

Question about filling keg from primary

I went ahead and tried it. Worked perfectly. Purged the empty keg, sanitized the tubing and QD, stuck it on the spigot, attached the QD to the keg, opened the spigot. Without a hitch! Will definitely be doing it this way from now on. Thanks for the insight guys.

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Yeah that's what I did. After reading through this thread and some others, it seems like a lot of people are doing in-your-face hoppy beers like that now. I brewed up another batch and added a 15 minute addition to get some more IBUs, so we will see how that turns out.

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

It was beer temp. The package said 65-70 range on it so that's why I went with 68. I guess I'll have to tlferment cooler and see what happens. Thanks guys
