+1 on the 12 awg for a 2000w element. I got my 12-3 SJOOW cord at Lowe's by the foot. Since your draw is more than 15 amps, make sure you are running it on a 20 amp receptacle at the wall (GFCI preferred), 20 amp plug on the cord, 20 amp breaker in your breaker box with 12 gauge wire in the wall.
