    From across the pond!

Its like the Ö, sounds kind of like the u in "turn" and "burn" or the "ea" in "learn"

To Prime or not to Prime

To answer the original question, yes you can "prime" them by bottling before the fermentation is done. But then you'd have to be pretty sure of what your FG is going to be and not bottle too soon, or you might have the whole batch explode. Regarding purity laws, check this out Krausening

    Dry hopping

I'll throw this question in here, i got lots of spare room in my refrigerator so im thinking of cold crashing my primary in there. Is it necesarry to pitch more yeast for carbonation fermentation in bottles afterwards or is there enough yeast in suspension after 2-3 days at ~45 fahrenheit...

Making progressively more mistakes with each batch...

At that point of brewing i think my hands are sanitized as well from cleaning and sanitizing everything that should be. Depends on how you sanitize though, but basicly i have my hands soaked in sanitizer during most of the process.

    Hops vs Flavor vs Krausen

A bit related, when dry hopping its recommended to not do it for too long or risk getting some grassy notes in the beer. What about hop leaves ending up in the fermenter, any risk of off flavours because of that? Or have they been "boiled clean"? Go ahead with a month in primary or should i...

    Punk Rock and Hardcore

So, im drunk and figure i might as well do a third post: Probably the best HC from Umeå, a bit of a shame that one of the singers got pregnant and i also guess the rest of the band got busy. Anyhow, awesome D-beat rock'n'roll. on another note: Shes never studied at an university...

    Punk Rock and Hardcore

Having my roots in a town with a strong vegan movement (one of few cities where McDonalds was forced to shut down due to constant vandalism) Well, thats kind of lame, but the American Hardcore documentary pretty much changed my life. Holy ****! From there i only went downhill, down into the...

    Keeping fit/slim/combating weight gain

Used to be stable at 165 but after starting homebrewing i've been dropping down towards 155, altough not related. Perhaps it's stopped me from dropping further. Think i'm gonna start working out this summer since im rather defined at the moment, even got some visible ribs. No fat, no muscles...

    insulating kettle mash tun

I use a "sleeping pad", top image here, cut to fit around my electric boiler and just remove it when its time to cool. Some tape to hold it together is enough for a session. If you have an old one lying around then it's a cheap and easy solution.

    Beer as Art

******* glass in the middle of the picture, i wanted to show off my ugly curtains. Acutally im just really pleased about the appeareance of my latest brew, snatched a glass while racking to fermenter, hope it remains as clear after fermentation.

    Post your infection

Had something similar in my last brew, came to the conclusion that it was just floaty yeast. On a different note i ended up with more yeast in my bottles than the brew before, dont know if that was related to the floaties though.
