I Think I'd Make an Excellent Advice Columnist- Another Rant

It's not just forcing beliefs that worries me. Children need a lot of protein and fat in their diet so they can develop such minor things as their vital organs. Their brains, in particular, need a lot of natural fats in order to develop properly, and the won't get enough of those on a vegan...

    planting hops

Are you planting rhizomes or full crows? I recommend buying crowns from Great Lakes Hops. Mine took off in about a week and are now over 7 feet tall and I just planted them this year. Once they are established, they really start to produce, and buying crowns gives them a head start. Harvest...

    Seeking Lost Trappist Recipes

Yes, and it is excellent, but doesn't involve recovering lost recipes but rather brewing in the spirit of the Belgian monks. Still, I highly recommend it.

1-Gallon Cider Recipe Testers for Upcoming Book?

Go buy a 2 gallon glass Carboy of water (my local health food store has them). That would work if you can find them in your area.

Tempered Glass Refrigerator Bottom & Cornelius Keg

What he said. If you're renting and the fridge isn't yours, I would take the glass shelf out and put it away and replace it with the plywood.

I Think I'd Make an Excellent Advice Columnist- Another Rant

Dear CG: Am I a terrible person for not wanting my husband to see his dying mistress? Sincerely, That wacko chick you just mentioned. PS - Do you think I might have a self esteem problem?

In case anyone's interested, here's a link to the podcast of Sunday's show. We did a pretty high-level view of selecting yeast, etc. http://t.co/0LLRnA8w

    Drastic measures!! Help

If you've got egg sacs and possibly mildew, I say burn those bines you cut off. If you compost them, you run the risk of the bugs coming back or contaminating your compost with a nasty organism.

    Beards, gotta go. Help.

My advice on cutting the beard is to at least cut it as short as possible with scissors before shaving it, but buying a cheap beard trimmer is a good idea. Also, the beard trimmer doubles as a not-so-close razor in a pinch. I haven't shaved with a razor regularly in 5+ years, so I can't offer...

    Brewing in the New'd!!!

What is it with our boys this morning? Mine is 17 months old and woke us up at 4:00. Alas, today is not a brew day, but I've been doing research for my show later today.

Recipe attempt for Vanilla Honey Blonde

I've added honey at flameout before and had good results, but some fold will tell you you have to pasteurize it. If you want to pasteurize it, add it about 5 minutes from flameout.

I Think I'd Make an Excellent Advice Columnist- Another Rant

I have a refrigerator that needs to be transported from my mother-in-law's house to my own, but I do not have access to a truck. This refrigerator will be used in my kitchen, which will leave us with an extra fridge which SWMBO has agreed can be used as "a beer fridge." Also, my brewing...

    Crazy question!!!!

You could always brew the beer, then boil it long enough to evaporate the alcohol out. I've never done it, but it seems like it'd work to me. Anyone Ever tried this?

Recipe attempt for Vanilla Honey Blonde

I think you'll be fine if the beans have been soaking in the vodka long enough. It will extract the flavors and aroma before it it added to the bottling bucket. I would try a dropper test with a small sample of beer and your vodka extract to see how much should be added just in case it pulls a...
