Yeah... I personally hate those pens. I went to the school supply store and bought good ol crayola chalk. It erases really well and doesn't leave traces of what you once wrote, even when you erase with just a dry rag.

Mine was about that full and it didn't overflow. There is practically no krausen. It bubbles a tiny bit, but that's about it.

A note on the color.... perhaps you scorched it. Are you using a SS pot or an aluminum one? I scorched the my first one using an aluminum pot, seems to be easier to do in those. Flavor- Maybe it's just me, but i've never known a vinegary taste to be pleasant or acceptable in beer, except maybe...

My LHBS/ Microwbrewery makes a Crude Porter Float. Made with vanilla been ice cream and the most delicious Coffee Porter ever! I never thought beer and Ice cream would go so well together.... :) *drools* Just wanted to let you all know. :ban:

Dear God, I'm Obsessed too... My airlock that's on the witbier smelled liked bananas last night. It was a beautiful thing. Amen :) When I'm not reading informative posts....I like threads like these. They make me smile.

:Solution..... Punch 'em That's what I do :) And my bottles always come back! :D jk! I posted my beer terms on Facebook and all of my friends took kindly to it. So I really do get my bottles back and rarely have people ask for a specific brew. When I share and someone likes it, I MIGHT offer...

I actually used the spray paint version. I used Rustoleum Auto Primer under it and the Rustoleum Specialty Chalkboard paint. I sanded the primer before adding the chalk paint. Came out nice and smooth. Just took my time, as to watch for streaking.
