time for a burner upgrade...what to buy?

Ordered the Edelmetall and thought it was going to blow me up. Several others had similar experiences where they tell you now to tighten the gas bung the whole way, but then when I lit it a giant fireball came out. Ordered a Blichmann and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Previously had a Bayou and the...

American IPA Maine Beer Co Linch IPA clone

Interesting recipe. When I had this all I got was Citra...a lot of citra. Do they not use that in theirs? Looks darn tasty though!

    Can I Fix It?

Also, too-hoppy and undrinkable are two different things. I love a lot of hops, but this is downright undrinkable.

    Can I Fix It?

Good morning, I did a double IPA (my first) and the beer did not ferment all the way to my target so now I have a super hoppy, undrinkable beer. Any way to fix this? I was shooting for 9.1% and 100 IBUs and ended up around 8.2%. I tasted it out of the fermenter and it was hoppy but...

    DIY pool maintenance

Depends on above ground/in ground, how well it was taken care of prior to you buying it, and the condition of the parts. Maintenance is fairly easy on both, however, parts can be fairly expensive when they need replaced. For example, I replaced the whole liner of my 22 foot above ground...

    BeerSmith 2 Mobile Equipment help

Are you milling your own grains? I noticed when I moved from buying precrushed grains to milling my own I needed to add a few degrees for loss. With precrushed I usually shot for 9 degrees over and now I typically shoot for 12. However, are you preheating your cooler? This definitely...

    Central PA Beer Gas Options

Good morning all! I recently had my tank filled with beer gas and the local guy said it is a PITA so he doesnt want to do it anymore. I am looking for options in State College, or Harrisburg, PA where I can get my tank filled with the 75/25 mix. Most places say they have to send the...

    New guy with etiquette questions

IMHO get his money for the first batch and split it with him. Then buy him out of his part of the gear. Then you have a full set up and can brew whenever and whatever you want. If he wants to brew with you, then you guys can just split the cost of the recipes you do. Partnerships and...

Boil and Ferm causing High ABV

Yikes! I have a cellar room that is not temp controlled, but does not (at least in my readings) go above 70. I use the same setup for my ferms at least for the first few days. Then pull the blow off and go to an airlock.

Boil and Ferm causing High ABV

Using a Hannah. Beersmith suggested collecting 7.89 gallons. I collected roughly 7. PB - 1.044 OG - 1.063 Others have suggested I was checking the PB at too high of a temp, so I will double check that next time. I do not pull og until the wort is chilled. Right before dumping to the...

Boil and Ferm causing High ABV

I have been using Beer Smith and it is calling for collecting almost 8 gallons of wort for the boil. I usually shoot for just under 7. This could be the cause. Could the ferocity of the boil have an affect as well? I could always back down the fuel feed in order to make the boil a little less...
