    Brewery names--what's your story?

Batter Up Brews - Huge baseball fan and think it provides a good theme for my brew names, like my bottle conditioning Fall Classic Amber, fermenting Perfect Game Porter and in the works Tripel Play Belgian. Logo:

    Can I Bottle?

Thank you so much. I had lurked these forums for a while and had seen many people post pics freaking out just like I did, just to be assured it was ok, but did I learn from them, of course not. Now to have a taste from the hydrometer jar, now that I know it is not infected..... well not bad but...

    Can I Bottle?

Ok, I just got home and got a reading it comes up at 1.011 which is what I was shooting for. Only thing now is I am freaking out about what it looks like. This is the first time I opened the bucket up and here is what it is: Is this ok, or is that an infection? Sorry about the low quality...

    Can I Bottle?

+1 to this Probably will pick up something that will double as a swamp cooler so SWMBO can stop complaining that it is so cold.

    Can I Bottle?

I was hoping to bottle tomorrow morning, but I haven't been able to take a FG reading yet. I will when I get home and again in the morning. I know consensus seems to be it is ready to bottle when FG is consistent for 3 days. The beer I am brewing is the Autumn Amber Ale from Midwest Supplies...

    Need help with next brew

I do like the challenge, but I would really like to brew a different beer next. Maybe my brew after the porter will be the autumn amber it again. Also, I would like to brew the same day I bottle and don't want to be stuck with 10 gallons of the amber if it ends up being a brew I don't prefer.

    Need help with next brew

Thanks for the encouragement, and actually the yeast was just something I saw one Brewer's Friend, thought it was something else, but I will be getting something new and fresh. Possibly the Safbrew S-33, any hints as to how to pick a yeast?

    Need help with next brew

Alright, I now have some time to think about all of this, and just found the awesome calculator over at Brewer's Friend, which really helps me to visualize how all the ingredients come together. Here is the recipe I came up with: Recipe If you don't want to click over, I am using all the...

    Need help with next brew

Well my stickon thermometer came in tonight, so its on and reading 66 degrees, so for now it is ok. I know that some of the most aggressive fermentation has ended and it may have been warmer initially, but I am comfortable with this for now, at least until I can afford/have room for a better...

    Need help with next brew

Thanks for some of the suggestions. As far as the fermentation temperature goes, I know it should be cooler, but it is kind of what I am limited too, by my apartment and girlfriend. I will try to come up with what I am going to do for the recipe sometime this week. Need to study for a law...

    Need help with next brew

After much lurking and researching, here's my first post. I brewed up my first batch a week ago and am looking ahead to brewing my next batch. I got a supply kit for Christmas along with an extract kit. Only thing is I got two of the same extract kits. The extract kit is the Autumn Amber Ale...
