Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Ha. No judgements. I can see the draw of always having a “fresh” car. I'm just too cheap to take the first year hit.

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

You mention getting rid of your Tesla at 6 or 7 years old, is this only because you want something different?

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

The RAV4 Prime would fit the bill, but the resale value is a little absurd on these things. The hybrid only versions are a little more reasonable. I had the hybrid 2024 as a rental for a week and it was solid; nice ride, good ground clearance etc. If I only had one vehicle, I wouldn't mind...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Rivian’s are nice but a bit out of my price range. They are introducing a more affordable model next year, but I’m still looking for a used model.

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Polestar anyone? I really am considering a used ev. I recently asked about owner experience of a Subaru. I know it doesn't have the best range or charge time but I could trust it mild off roading. I've been noticing more Polestars around town, a few in my neighborhood. I looked them up on...

    Anvil Brewing Equipment

I think their ss fermenters are severely underrated. Easy to clean and light enough to move around. I’ve been using mine since they were introduced. The aio is also super easy to use. Never used their kettles though.

    Focus for 2025?

Thanks for the tip. I’ll check it out. I’m still in my “research” phase. Basically I’m checking out the beer selections at bottle shops, grocery stores etc trying to find commercial examples. This overlooked part of the process can be quite enjoyable.

    Focus for 2025?

I’m gonna look at some traditional styles that I’ve never brewed. First up is an Altbier and then maybe a dunkel. I’m shying away from hop heavy beers this year.

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Does anyone have any first hand experience with the Subaru Solterra or the Toyota BZ97293XXX? I’ve read about their cons; only 220 range and slower charging etc. I do like that it has higher ground clearance than ev’s in my price range. I’m specifically looking at used 2023 models. In my area...

Obviously, you have a problem with giant nail clippers. With wheels.

    Burger & Beer Thread!

Thanks for the LEM suggestion. I was just looking at other Patty makers and nothing stood out as quality or adjustable. I just bought a full brisket at Costco and I’m debating whether to grind it or smoke it. Hmmm.

    Orange Sage Mead

Yes!! This is exciting. I never thought to make a tea, but that’s a great idea. I’m wondering if heating up my vodka tincture would help to bring out some flavor. The last time I stole a sip, I did grab a leaf from the fermenter and gave it a good twist into my sample. The flavor combo was...

    Wild fermentation advice?

Here is my latest batch. It's 2 gallons. I just took a little sip and it doesn't have as much barnyard as previous batches but I'll let it ride for a couple of more months and check again. Either way, it would still add a little funk to my regular ciders.

    Wild fermentation advice?

Sorry for being late to the party- I love ciders with a bit of “character”. My favorite method is to ferment 2 or 3 gallons of aj with a Brett strain. The last one I used was Imperial Sour Patch (I no longer see it on their website though). Start this now. No need for fancy juice, anything that...

    Orange Sage Mead

Ha! Beat you to it. I actually started the tincture before the actual batch. I had bought some sage leaves and figured I didn’t have time to start so instead of letting them rot, I started the tincture. I also may try a small amount of the dried stuff to see if that works. Like I said, I have...

    Orange Sage Mead

12/23/2024 I transferred out of the plastic bucket into a 3 gallon carboy. It still has a little left to ferment but I got impatient (and I wanted it out of my kitchen). I had to bring in a batch of peppermint stout for a diacetyl rest and two fermenters in the kitchen is pushing my luck. It...

    The Heart Warrior

Best wishes. That’ll be the best tasting mead, regardless of how it turns out. We all want your mead to be the best. Cysers, when aged properly, have a ton of flavor. We just opened a bottle of 5 year cyser and it was amazing. Your recipe has a LOT of spices. There really is no hurry to add...

    I hate grain mills

Cereal Killer user as well. About 10 years old, never an issue. It’s one of those pieces of gear that I don’t even think about.

    Dry Hopping Mead?

I think that would be a good starting point. Maybe let it take it’s time coming back to room temp. *Im assuming you’ll be using pellet hops. Whole, dried hops would take longer at that time. Those are getting harder to find now anyways.

    Orange Sage Mead

December 15th, 2024 I’ve been gassing the mead every couple of days and occasionally sneak in a taste. It’s almost done fermenting. A rough estimate of the gravity is about 1.020. It taste like a sweet mead w fresh orange- man I love oj peel in meads. I’ll probably do another oj peel and...
