    Just A Dumb Thought

I'm sitting here having my morning coffee, looking at a 2 gallon Oatmeal Stout (all extract) that I made yesterday. It has started to ferment. Being in my 40's I remembered a dumb commercial from my childhood. So now I have the thought of "fermentaa-tion it's making me wait"...running through my...

    Lactose Question

thanks for the advice. quick question, the extracts ive been using, you boil the base water, then remove it from the heat, mix in the extract then add to the rest of the water in the fermenter. I'm guessing I should still do that, then stir in the lactose? and not actually boil it?

    Beginner Fermentation Questions

When I say bad...I mean it tasted somewhat chemically. If that makes sense. The recipe was a Mallard Malts one gallon recipe. I dont recall the exact grain/hops combination. I followed the instructions to a tee. The OG reading was 1.049. I didnt take a FG. The yeast was the SAF yeast provided...

    Beginner Fermentation Questions

So far i've made two batches of beer since I started brewing. One was 1 gallon all grain Belgian Ale recipe. It fermented really well for about 3 days then stopped. I left it in the primary for two weeks, then transferred it to a secondary fermenter for two weeks. Bottled and let it sit for two...
