    New fermentation porn!

Yea I just don't know where it's located. I guess it's time to strip everything apart

    New fermentation porn!

Great setup. I found a True GDM on craigslist for $100... love it. I've got my STC1000 built into the base of the fridge with the cooling run going straight to the compressor and the heating run going to a red light in the fridge. How do I bypass the thermostat? Everytime it gets to cold the...

Using a NEST thermostat for temp control?

Cheers. Makes sense about the low voltages. I just have access to a few free ones and it got me thinking. I'm more than happy with using my STC1000 but I also really like the Brew Pi setup.

Using a NEST thermostat for temp control?

Anybody thought about using a Nest controller to control their fermentation chambers? This is my current setup: A coke fridge with an STC1000 rigged into it (quite nicely with a stained wood panel at the base? I've never used a nest but I'm thinking that it would be a pretty elegant and simple...

Star San off flavor due to spray bottle?

Thanks for the reply. Our water in Vancouver has almost nothing in it, including chlorine, so i don't think it's a chloro-phenol issue. I rinsed out the ZEP bottles with hot water about 3 times with some vigerouse shaking, but I'm guessing they still leeched a bit of nastiness in. I went out...

Star San off flavor due to spray bottle?

So I know it's been discussed that Star San really doesn't produce any significant flavor characteristics in fear... "don't fear the foam" I recently had a batch turn out with a bit of a plastic aftertaste so I tastes the starsan in my ZEP spray bottle... EXACT SAME TASTE. How long do you...

How to Tap and Make your own Maple Syrup

I just tried this yesterday. It is amazing! Most homebrewers already have more than enough equipment to pull this off.:ban: I’m not sure what the legal ramifications are for heisting delicious Maple Syrup from city property, but I assure you that the taste ramifications are tremendous...

    Double batch mash tun size?

I'm looking in to getting a mashtun for double batches (10gal beer). Is it best to use two smaller coolers or is there a certain size that is ideal for doubler batches?

Fast Co2 Leak from post seal

Good point, I think the leak is pretty small though. JB weld wont leak any chemical into the beer once it's hardened will it?

Fast Co2 Leak from post seal

There must be some sort of food grade glue or sealant I can stick in there

Fast Co2 Leak from post seal

It's not the tower, it's the threaded post that's built in to the keg

Fast Co2 Leak from post seal

I bent my liquid out post the other day and now there is a fast leak from the space between the post and the keg plastic. Is there a certain sort of sealant I should use to seal this mess up? Cheers
