5 gallons of IPA halfway through the boil, sparged another gallon off the grains to make a table beer, 1.020 to start. It'll be interesting to see how that goes. :)
I use whole hops and a bazooka T screen. Between the leaf and the screen, a lot of hot break gets filtered out. I also do no-chill, whirlpool and rack into primary to get rid of anything else that gets through.
Bottled Apfelwein last night. Brewed a 10 g Oatmeal Stout and started another batch of Skeeter Pee. Still have to bottle a 2 gal test porter. Now it's cleanup time.
Also made a Spent grain bread to go with the Homemade Bacon I smoked during the brew
I had a carboy like that a few years ago, just one mouse. I considered cursed and got rid of it. To this day, I don't miss it. Fermenters are easy enough to get. Now if it was a keg fermenter, I would clean the hell out of it!
I make flavored simple syrups using extracts or spices. I buy 2 liter Seltzers and use a seltzer gun, found in the soda aisle, to serve it fountain style. My daughter had great success using Pomegranate Molasses as a base, Pomegranate soda!
My restaurant is closed due to the storm, home with the kids. I brewed yesterday, pitched today (Thank you no chill!). I'm going to bottle a Mr. Beer kit my m-i-l gave me for Christmas. Maybe some hot hard cider later!
