    Man, I love Apfelwein

Man, I don't know if I'll have enough left to bottle, as I keep stealing glasses as it goes. I think the fermentation is over, and all 3 gallons taste different. Still tasty though.

Well worth the effort. Tastes like your sitting at an outside cafe on the platz in Frankfurt am Main

    Show us your Kegerator

Na zdorov'ya (На здровя) means "on (or to) your health" in Russian. Many other languages say apx the same thing before a drink, so I would say that's a fair aproximation of a toast.

How many gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein have been made?

Thinking of Frankfurt Am Main and Sachsenhausen after the wall fell + 3

Place the liquid into a cylinder spinning about its axis, the liquid will spin and stay on the walls, and a tube could evacuate the empty area in the middle. Run the tube out to where an airlock would feel the centrigugal force, and you're in business. Motorize it and you're home free. Might...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Speaking of spongey flesh... I just stole a sample from both my brewing yeast batches. Not quite done, but at 2 weeks its close to what I drank while I was stationed in Frankfort Hoerchst all those years ago. Bless you Ed Wort!! This is the closest I've been to real apfelwein since fall '91!

Checked on the fermenters this morning, and all 3 gallons had pretty much stopped bubbling. The fastest airlock activity is on the bread yeast with a bubble every 10 seconds or so. I never got the rhino fart smell, so now I'm settling in for the long haul. I'm not sure I can wait 3 more weeks...

Been just over 28 hours, and both are bubbling quietly in the basement. Pitched the bread yeast in the other gallon and fitted the blowoff tube. I am prepared for mixed results.

Crud! LHBS was out of airlocks. Put a hole, a grommet and a hose in the last cap. In the morning I will pitch the last gallon.

Leftover apfelcorn. Its old but its liquid. Been in the jugs for about 2 hours and already have a little foam forming.

Just jumped in. Been following this thread since it was young, but never tried it. Bought 3 gallons of Motts, and saved some old caps. Drilled 2 caps and fitted them with airlocks & sterilized them. Poured my daughter 2 cups of juice and pitched 1/2 a packet each of montrachet and 1118 (I'm...
