My beer tastes like hose water

are you on city water? if so, even the hose water has been disinfected before being supplied to the house, so that's a minute chance of bacteria getting in.

BPO you're an inspiration. come to think of it, since i grow corn anyway, i wonder how hard it would be to grow half an acre of barley.

how do you save money... and what's your per bottle price?

So ... it can be as expensive as you want it to be. for me, i made 500 bottles of wine last year, so i have all the equipment, minus a capper for bottles and bottlecaps. i figured this would cut my alcohol budget in half.

    Oxidized?

thanks balrog, its a huge pain to hold it careful so that doesn't happen

    Oxidized?

rodwha, the bottle wand aerating, is that noted by a rattling sound while it disperses into the bottle? if so my next batch is in serious trouble. btw, if your siphon has air in it it can also add a lot of D.O. , so pinch the siphone and make sure it's all liquid, no bubbles.

    Oxidized?

look forward to hearing if it improves. flat beer just kills it for me.

i'm i nthe exact same boat, about to start my fifth extract brew. i got into it to save money, so as you can imagine, i'm pretty frugal ... keeping my own house yeast going and stuff. ...tending to your yeast will save tons of money. i make my brews typically based on whatever is on...

    salvaging my dubbel

well i have lots of foam and krausen, so apparently the Lees from my previous batches are doing their thing. i live in rural indiana, do be honest i never saw where to put that in when i registered. i dont think it was the transit so much as 8 hours in a black metal mailbox in the sun.
