    Silicone hose

I notice the same thing on everything that touches starsan that has CO2 bubbling through it. I think that it might just be what is left behind after the starsan bubbles evaporate.

    DIY Thermobarrel-like mash tun

It may not be nessisary, but the flexibility that the insulation and the port offer are quite nice. I have used this on my last five brews. Most have been a traditional mash ( last mash only lost about 1.5 degrees during 90 min). I have used it in two vessel breweasy type setup, and my last...

    DIY Thermobarrel-like mash tun

The 10 gallon thermobarrel has an updated design (new lid and latches) that seems to me to be a step up from the old design (that looks like the Vollum). Also The vollum does not have a recirculation port, which is a great feature. I have a thermobarrel, and love it. The 10 gallon thermobarrel...

Accuflex Bev-Seal Connection to Draft Tower

I am eagerly waiting for the intertap tower shanks with the duotight barb (I think this is the kegland shank mentioned earlier). In the meantime I boiled the end of the tubing, used a smooth chopstick to expand the I.d., and slipped the tubing over the barb (more like forced it over the barb...

    Kegging NEIPA Question

I typically don’t have rules as far as when I tap a neipa. I will leave it in the fermenter anywhere from one to three weeks, and let it sit in the keg for a week before I tap. I find that most of mine hit there prime in 4 to 6 weeks, but they are typically good enough throughout there lifespan...

    Breville Barista Opinions

Hey TwistedGray, I have never used or had a coffee from this machine, so please consider that when reading what I say. For me part of making espresso is dialing in all the factors that can affect the final product. To me all in one machines typically lack the ability to do this. Also I would...

Kettle size for 5 gallon BIAB

Hey Brewing1976! I think you have gotten some great advice above, but I just wanted to put out a different viewpoint than the others. I got a deal on a 7.5g Blichmann with a boilcoil, for my first kettle, and I am still using it to this day. At first I had boilovers, batches that were closer to...

Where to eat /drink in Ashville NC

I'm taking a road trip down to ashville next week, for a four day family vacation. The amount of breweries is intense to say the least. Does anyone have any recommendations for best breweries to go to and what I should order. Also any recommendations on good food and activities to do would be...
