    OG higher that expected.

Temp was 77 degrees. I thought it was a little high, that is why I took it a second time after I mixed it again. It is currently fermenting away, I think that I am going to let it finish and then see where I am running at. I tasted a little wort and it had really good flavor.

    OG higher that expected.

That's what I did, but I thought that I mixed it well enough. Mix water, then wort, then water etc. about a gallon at a time and stirred with racking cane. Then I took the gravity. Stirred it up some more and then took it again and came up with the same #. Just a little lost.

    OG higher that expected.

Well, it is making that oh familiar bubbling sound as those little yeast munch away. It smelled good, tasted good and .... I guess we'll see how it goes.

    Job Satisfaction-with Survey

After 18+ years in the Navy, doing the same thing that McKbrew does and not seeming to really know what I want to do when I really grow up and have to get a REAL job. It has been fun and exciting but the kids are getting older and would really like to spend more time with them and the brew...

    Honey

I just brewed a honey Hefe and boiled ~2 lbs of honey with 7 lbs of Wheat LME. Prior to that I steeped .5 lbs of wheat malt and crystal malt 20 with 1 lb of honey malt. The honey malt is available at my local LHBS and smells great when it is ground up. The primary is smelling great. My OG was...

    How did you find us?

I was introduce by McKbrew; he and I work in the same office. I have been on for about a month and have already brewed and almost drank the first batch. :rockin:

    The first batch

I bought a kit and made a nut brown for the first batch. Kind of interesting, added 8 lbs of dark DME to the boil and then fermented. Bottled a week later, and drank the first one 2 weeks later on my birthday. Happy Birthday to me and I can't stop drinking them. I have shared them with...
