New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

A local brewery made what they called a ‘New England Lager’ where I assumed they brewed what would have been a neipa and then fermented with a lager yeast. They added locally produced fruit juice to the brew as well. It was hazy, juicy, fruity but also dry and smashable like a lager. So I...

Poured my first pint of my Sabro/Rakau/Cashmere imperial ipa today and it was great. Noticeably different to anything I’ve made before, had a bit of a herbal aspect to it but it’s quite impressive how much Sabro stands out in such small quantities as well. I think I’m a pretty damn good hazy ipa...

I’ve just done my first ever yeast starter for my latest batch using 1318. According to my TILT, my beer has attenuated from 1.081 down to 1.012. I wasn’t expecting a 9% abv beer but here we are.

    That looks absolutely amazing.

Found this on another thread and thought I’d post it here. Trillium posted the recipe to one of the beers they released recently. https://www.trilliumbrewing.com/trillium-news/how-to-pale-ale Interesting to see how little hops they’ve used in the kettle. I’ve been toying with the idea of...

Here’s that fermentation chart photo from Other Half. I had it saved on my phone from when I saw it in another thread. They’re using LA III fermenting at 72 and doing a single dry hop on day 7 according to what I gathered from this.

Would you use Cashmere predominately as a dry hop then? Say if I add 1:2:1 Sabro/Rakau/Cashmere to the kettle and the 1:1:2 in the dry hop would that work? I’ve read throughout this thread and other sources that Sabro is pretty potent and can overpower other hops if used in too great a quantity.

Did a bit of an online shop and got myself 100g of Sabro, 250g of Cashmere and 300g of Rakau. I want to make a beer that feature the three of them but I haven’t used any of these hops before so I’m looking for advice on amounts/ratios of each for hot side and cold side.

That’s awesome. How much did you add at flame out? EDIT: Nevwrmind, just re-read you original post properly.

Do you get any honey character from the honey or is it purely for ABV? My girlfriend’s grandfather makes honey and it’s absolutely delicious so I’ve been wanting to try and use it in a beer but I don’t really know how to go about it.

Poured my first pint of this one today, but it’s still a tiny bit undercarbed. Went Super heavy on the oats (33%) and it’s come out a treat. Super juicy and very dangerously smashable for a 7% beer.

That’s what I’ve read as well. Maybe the batch at my lhbs was an average one, its the only shop in my city that got some. I’ve tried a few commercial Nelson beers before and I have really enjoyed them, but I am only whelmed by this one.

Long time listener, first time caller here. Brewed with Nelson on my latest batch. Getting a really intense blueberry/blackberry type aroma. I don’t hate it but it’s not what I expected, I’ve never used this hop before.
