New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

A website that I buy a lot of my hops off of currently has a sale on a few 2018 crop year hops that have caught my interest. Has anyone had any experience or opinions on Comet, Astra & Hallertau Blanc? The Blanc especially interests me because it sounds similar to Nelson Sauvin.

I’m lucky here in South Australia our SA Water agency publish the water report for every suburb one their website so I’ve always been able to easily treat my water based on it.

I’m looking to do an all citra brew next along the lines of King Sue. From what I’ve read, Toppling Goliath use S04 & 007 in their beers. Are these two the same yeast strain? And what temperatures should I be fermenting with this strain? Is fermentation temperature more important or is under...

Personally I usually do 2oz at flameout and then a 5oz whirlpool at 165. My dry hop is anywhere between 10-15oz depending on what hop I’m using. Also when I’m using Idaho 7 (which is 90% of my Hazy IPA brews) I add some late in the boil, but that’s just me and isn’t essential. If I were you...

This is my latest attempt. I’m in love with the colour. This is also the first hazy I’ve made without Citra that I’ve actually been completely happy with.

I re-listened to the craft beer and brewing podcast with Henry from Monkish again last week and he said that they aim for 5.0

My transfer from my Fermzilla with floating dip tube to keg only takes about 20 minutes. I love it.

I didn’t take it that way. I’ve interacted with you enough around the message board to know that you’re not like that.

Cheers. Wasn’t aware they were the same.

I can’t get Malted Oats from any of my LHBS. What’s the difference or benefits of using Malted Oats over supermarket bought Rolled Oats? Is the much difference in taste & mouthfeel?

Idaho 7 is sensational imo. I find myself using it in almost every Hazy I make.

Does anyone have any experience with using Kohatu hops in a Hazy IPA? I’ve got 250g that I want to use in my next Hazy but not sure how to optimise their use.

That one was definitely my “orangest” looking hazy to date and I think the Vienna malt played a huge part in that, but I’ve read before to try and avoid crystal malts in these types of beers. My LHBS doesn’t have Honey Malt so I haven’t used it before but I think I’ll try and source it from...

What’s giving it that lovely orange juice colour? I find a lot of my hazies are more on the yellow side. I usually just use Golden Promise & Oats but my latest brew i used some Vienna as well and was happier with the colour, but It’s still something I’m trying to work on. Edit: Here is my...

To address your three points: 1. I’m not a big lager drinker but the commercial version that I based mine off was a delicious beer that I could imagine myself drinking all summer long, and the all round idea and combination worked. 2. As for the fruit juice, the commercial version used mango...
