In my anecdotal experience, I prefer lupomax over Cryo but I’ve only really used a decent amount of Citra in both forms. I found my Citra Lupomax beers to have more overall consistent true Citra hop flavour.

This could very well just be a very early iteration of the recipe that they used to brew in their shed at home. Either way, even if this is the actual recipe, nothing in it is groundbreaking and I highly doubt it would produce anywhere near a beer of Fidens quality if I brewed it at home.

Between this and the CB&B podcast recently with Slice brewing as well as another one recently that I can’t remember the name of, it seems that there’s a few breweries out there that are making some high quality beer whilst still keeping their chloride/sulfate/calcium ions relatively low. I’m...

I must say, there have been some fantastic looking beers being posted here over the last couple of weeks. This is the first hazy beer I’ve brewed since January, and well, it’s pretty good. I cheated and did a single hop Citra beer with T90, LUPOMAX & Cryo. First time using British Ale V. I...

Any Lallemand Philly Sour feedback or experience to share?

Tr Try fermenting 1318 at a lower temperature. From my experiences, there’s a pretty decent difference between 18C-22C.

What’s your verdict on Verdant (verdanct?). I’ve had a few beers made with it, both homebrew and commercially and for me they’ve lacked a bit of the juice that I get from its liquid counterparts.

I bought some organic spelt from our local market that I’m really excited to use. I’m super interested to see if It elevates my beer in comparison to the weyerman product.

I don’t know if it’s just me but I also found a distinct difference in taste between malted oats and flaked oats. I don’t know if it’s just because of the sheer amount more that you can use in comparison but it stood out to me as soon as I switched from flaked to malted. Edit: Just realised I...

Has anyone used both LA3 & British Ale V and noticed any discernible difference?

Just Unreal. I brewed this beer for a competition that ended up getting cancelled due to Covid. Have never hopped a beer this heavily before and the flavour that punches through is huge. The mouthfeel is good, if not great, but it’s still not at that level of the really elite hazy beers that...

Gave you a follow. You won’t find a lamer homebrew gram than mine. I do can mock ups on my phone and post them like they’re real life releases. I know secretlevel and Pratt are pretty active on the gram from this thread.

You’re probably right, but I’ve never used White Wheat before so the addition of Spelt really added something that Malted Oats haven’t before. I’ve seen Drekker and Tired Hands mention spelt quite regularly though.

I can’t for the life of me get any lime notes from Motueka. Have a beer on tap now that is motueka dominant. Used it on both hot side and cold side. The beer is delicious but it’s just your typical fruit salad medley as opposed to a specific lime character.

I jumped on the Spelt train after all the positive experiences you were all having and I must say I’m a convert. I only used it as 12% of my grain bill alongside my usual 30% Malted Oats and the mouthfeel on this beer is noticeably better than anything I’ve ever produced. I’ve also noticed very...

Ive had some unreal Cloudwater beers though. Ive got a 4pack of Range & Banks Participation Award in the fridge and it’s honestly one of the best beers I’ve ever had. Deffo getting some great stuff brewed in Aus.

We recently got a massive shipment of Other Half here in Australia and I was able to get my hands on half a dozen different beers but I honestly expected a bit more considering the hype. I had a can of Triple Citra Daydream a few months ago and that was unreal tho.

You’ve mentioned before about the oat heavy grain bills, but what is considered heavy now? Other Half have Oat heavy grain bills but that I’m itself isn’t getting us the mouthfeel and flavour that Fidens is producing.
