    I made a batch of mead yesterday, maybe I'm being a bit impatient, but im concerned my yeast is not starting. I even added yeast nutrient. What can I do if it does not start.

    So I ended up using wyeast dry mead yeast. Its been about 15 hours since I pitched I it. Is mead yeast supposed to go off like beer yeast. After reading one of the above posts, I'm concerned my yeast is not starting. If that is the case, what can I do.

    I'm new to mead making and making some tomorrow. The recipe calls for lalvin d 47 yeast. My local brew store does not carry lalvin. They have small selection of mead yeast. They have wyeast sweet mead and wyeast dry mead. Which one do I use?????

    If I use dishwasher with no soap but have rinse aid in washer, will that affect the bottles. I have sanitize option on dishwasher but no way to empty rinse aid. I've also read several threads a about oxygen absorbing caps some say to sanitize some say don't. ?????????

    When preparing to move primary to secondary, if my volume is short of my desired 5 gallons, is it ok to add a little clean water to my secondary carboy then siphon in the primary.

    When its time to bottle and I have the priming sugar and beer in the bottling bucket, do I need to fit the bucket lid with an air lock or just place the lid on the bucket.

    I'm doing a Imperial blonde ale kit, but I have a big enough pot to do five gallons. The recipe is for five gallons, 2.5 gallon boil with 2.5 gallons added before yeast.

    If my recipe says to steep grains for twenty minutes in 2.5 gallons of water, but I boil 5 gallons, should I steep for forty minutes.

    Imperial blonde ale from a kit. Fermentables are 6.6 lbs light lme,1lb. wheat dme and 1lb. corn sugar. Grain is 1 lb honey malt. Hops are 1.5 oz. brewers gold bittering for 40 minutes of boil, .5 oz cascade flavoring with 20 minutes left in boil and .5 cascade for aroma last 10 minutes of boil...

    My recipe says that the hop utilization is for a 2.5 gallon wort boil with an additional 2.5 gallons of water added before pitching yeast. I was planning on a 5 gallon wort boil. Will that really affect the final IBU.
