How long are your brew sessions?

multitasking is key Extract boils are USUALLY well-behaved after the hot break so that time can be used more efficiently. No need to sanitize anything that touches the wort before the boil is over so sanitize while boiling. Use of a no-rinse sanitizer will save time and water. If you use dry...

    everyone's wort sizes

SWMBO says it's not the size of the pot but how vigorous you can boil.... but I think she just says that to make me feel better:( Before she kicked the brewery out of the house I was doing approx. 3 gal boils.

    Time/ingredient conversions

I would download a trial version of brewing software look for a list under the "brewing software" form topic. then enter the recipe and play with the variables to see what would happen.

I've been kicked out of my brewery.

I was told after my last extract batch I had to GTFO of the house. She said "I dont care what...

    And now we wait...

Congrats! Carboy watching is a favorite hobby of mine. One thing though, be careful when making adjustments to kit recipes. Using more water in the boil will allow for greater hops utilization. The end product might end up hoppier than the kit was designed for. (this might not be a bad thing)
