I feel ya! Did the same thing when I got married. Has an 08 Tacoma lifted with a trd supercharger. Unfortunately she couldn't drive stick and living DT Seattle so my 8 mpg wasn't practical.
I dump them under a tree in my front yard so the squirrels stop digging up my yard but mostly cause I hope they ferment and I can watch the squirrels get around drunk.
How long is mead good for after it's opened. I just like to have a glass every now and than I just don't want to waste it. I figure a 375 bottles would go longer.
Looking online for 375ml bottles, but three cases shipped is 70$!! I could make two more batches of mead for that. I know my LHBS sails them but they are still really expensive.
Where else could I look?
I live in Seattle.
I just built a mashtun from a home depot 5 gallon cooler and I'm afraid it's to small. If I do 1.5 qt/lb I don't see how 12# of grain and 4.5 gallons are going to fit in a 5 gallon space. Am I missing something? Or should I get a 10 gallon?
These are my first mead/homebrew. The one on the right is an apple cinnamon mead and it cleared within two weeks of being in primary. I'm still trying ti figure out what I want to do with them because the peach dried out and I need to back sweeten it. I'm afraid if I add more honey it won't help...
I tried this recently with a peach mead. Took one egg white mixed it with water and lightly stirred. Didn't really do much. First picture is before second is like a week later.
I plan to do my first AG this weekend. I'm a little concerned about my kettle. I obviously can't hold 5 gallons since it will boil over, so my question is if I can do it at 4.5 gallons and say 1-1.5 gallons boil off would it be worth it? Or can I add water during the boil? Or just top it off?
I...
I moved it from my garage to a closet for a more stable temp. Ill try a gentle stir. It's actually 1.030 not 1.040. Will there still be sugar conversion if mash is over 155 like 158?
