Advice on Kegging Rig Greatly Appreciated

Thanks for the advice everyone. Just ordered all the stuff I need from kegconnection.com; can't wait to start kegging!

Advice on Kegging Rig Greatly Appreciated

Did you get the Taprite double body, or their in-house brand?

Advice on Kegging Rig Greatly Appreciated

Excellent, that's good info. If someone like you is fine with a single regulator, then I'm sure it would be sufficient for what I would need. With that in mind, I think I'll take the kegconnection rig. Thanks Yooper!

    Making a wort chiller

Copper is pretty expensive, but you should still come out on top when you build it. As you can see here https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f39/diy-wort-chiller-any-real-savings-248396/index3.html#post2982786 , I was faced with the same conundrum, and I was so happy I built mine. It cost me...

    Suggestions on Kegging setup (x-post)

I'm putting this over here, as I have a hard time getting replies in the other sub-forums...perhaps because my questions are so...beginner :drunk: Here's the link: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/advice-kegging-rig-greatly-appreciated-260764/ Thanks guys!

Advice on Kegging Rig Greatly Appreciated

Hey all, I've read so many posts on kegging setups that my head is starting to spin, so I thought I'd bring it to the forum. I want a 2-keg setup with pin locks (assuming they are cheaper than ball), a 5 or 10-lb co2 cylinder, and a dual regulator where I can dispense from one keg and...

    Pelican Ankle Buster

I just had this tonight, and man is it a good beer! Has anyone had it, and do you know of an extract recipe for something similar? I couldn't find a clone, but someone with a more adept palate may be able to suggest a similar brew.

Blonde Ale Extract Recipe- How's it look?

That's a nice beer. Don't go wasting it all on your monitor and keyboard ;)

Blonde Ale Extract Recipe- How's it look?

I was looking for something fun to do this evening so I brewed my batch of this. I think it's gonna be a good brew, as all things went well, other than: 1) At 20 mins I added hops instead of the DME, which explains why I'm calling it Buxom Blonde Ale. I caught it soon after and pulled the hop...

Blonde Ale Extract Recipe- How's it look?

Perfect. I actually grabbed some US-05 but the guys sometimes suggest a different yeast. I took his word and went with the Notty, but will maybe switch it up next time. She's starting to get into craft beers (she used to only drink coors, but now she's been going for a nice pils or lager), and...

Blonde Ale Extract Recipe- How's it look?

MOD EDIT: Double post merged I wasn't getting any replies over there (probably because it's such a newbie question), so I thought I'd repost it here: I went into my favorite brew store in Vancouver, WA (Bader's, if you're in the area) for a 5-gallon Better Bottle to use as a secondary, and...

Blonde Ale Extract Recipe- How's it look?

I went into my favorite brew store in Vancouver, WA (Bader's, if you're in the area) for a 5-gallon Better Bottle to use as a secondary, and decided to peruse the recipes. I mentioned that I wanted something light that my girlfriend would like, and the guy scampered off and gathered the...

First brew in the bottles- Thanks HBT!

I'm really curious why the beer came out tasting the way it does. It's a Midwest Irish Red Ale kit, and I've heard from my friends that it's like a porter, or that it tastes like chocolate. Neither of those makes sense, unless an Irish red is something entirely different from what I'm thinking...

First brew in the bottles- Thanks HBT!

I'd actually be planning a fourth. I have two others beers fermenting as we speak :)

First brew in the bottles- Thanks HBT!

I'm having a hard time describing the flavor of this brew. It isn't like most red ales; it actually tastes sort of like a porter. Maybe a blend between a red and a porter... I don't know. All in all, it's pretty good, but I think I'll leave it in the bottles a little longer. Carbonation is...

    Third batch in the bucket

What's amazing is that I'm generally pretty impatient, but when it comes to this I'm willing to wait as long as it takes. Even though I've only sampled a few of my beers (which weren't even ready), I'm still excited when I get to find and brew something new.

    Third batch in the bucket

I guess I got your reply just a minute late. I was worried about another issue like my last brew, where the airlock was about to burst, so I scrapped together a blowoff with this bottle, some tubing from my siphon, and some Star San. Perhaps it wasn't necessary, but I feel good knowing that...

    Third batch in the bucket

Oh crap... I just got back to the house (after a few hours with one of the founders of Double Mountain, which is pretty awesome) and naturally I came to check on the beers in the basement. What do I see? 2 inches of foam (Star San) atop the airlock. My first instinct? Use a blowoff. However...

    Third batch in the bucket

Well well well, guess who decided to wake up. I came down to check the temp and make sure the lid was all the way on (I knew it was but I'm a little bit obsessed with monitoring the beer throughout the process), and what did I find? The temp is right at 65 (perfect) and the middle piece is...

    Third batch in the bucket

I had to go grab something from home, so naturally I checked on my brew. The bucket is at a comfortable 67 degrees. I see no reason to mess with it, unless things change drastically. Here's to a good beer in about a month!
