I have a similar cider in the secondary right now. I used three gallons pressed apple juice and two gallons fresh squeezed pineapple juice. As to how it tastes I have yet to sample it, but the smell is quite nice.
I'll have to give it a try next time, I just finished up the first step of SP, I wanted a lower ABV so I added only 14 cups of sugar instead of 16. The gravity was 1.040, is it going to be far to light?
Okay, so then when people say that there making something like a cranberry skeeter pee do they say this because the slurry they used came from a batch of cranberry wine?
I tried the buckets out it didn't really work to well, the apple mulch just clogged the wholes I drilled and the liquid could not make its way in to the final bucket.
I might try to drill some bigger wholes and fit the second bucket with a cheese cloth and try again.
I was also hoping to make a batch of this with an abv of around 6%. Did you follow the recipe and add less sugar to achieve that or do something else.
And would this stuff be good carbonated?
I have pineapple juice with white grape concentrate in the secondary right now. I would say it's more like a wine cooler than anything else, with an abv of around 6.5. It's clearing nicely now and should be a nice summer drink once carbonated.
