    Pineapple to cider recipe

I have a similar cider in the secondary right now. I used three gallons pressed apple juice and two gallons fresh squeezed pineapple juice. As to how it tastes I have yet to sample it, but the smell is quite nice.

    Skeeter Pee

Okay thanks a lot, i'm so new to all this it's kind of overwhelming trying to get everything right. But it's so much fun I can't get enough.

    Skeeter Pee

So if I wanted could I add a small amount of juice just for flavor and top up with water

    Skeeter Pee

I'll have to give it a try next time, I just finished up the first step of SP, I wanted a lower ABV so I added only 14 cups of sugar instead of 16. The gravity was 1.040, is it going to be far to light?

    Winecalc?

    Skeeter Pee

Okay good to know, I think I'll try the cranberry next

    Skeeter Pee

So would you just substitute some water for juice when making the volume.

    Skeeter Pee

Okay, so then when people say that there making something like a cranberry skeeter pee do they say this because the slurry they used came from a batch of cranberry wine?

    Skeeter Pee

Cool, thanks guys. If I wanted to back sweeten a batch in the future, would a can of frozen concentrate work well after stabilization?
  10. Guthrie

    Skeeter Pee

This is my first batch would you recommend carbonating it or is it fine still?
  11. Guthrie

    Skeeter Pee

Cool, thanks. I guess it's time to get started then!

    Skeeter Pee

Is it fine if I use dextrose for fermentation, I didn't see any specific sugar mentioned.

a very effective way to "start" skeeter pee

I was told that using kieselsol and chitosan may work, any thoughts on this.

a very effective way to "start" skeeter pee

I was unable to find the sparkalloid, is there anything else I can use?

a very effective way to "start" skeeter pee

Yeah I'm used to that not a huge deal. Is the drink it self good?

When you bottle carb will you be left with any lees in the bottle after pasteurization?

Apples but no press, or freezer room

I tried the buckets out it didn't really work to well, the apple mulch just clogged the wholes I drilled and the liquid could not make its way in to the final bucket. I might try to drill some bigger wholes and fit the second bucket with a cheese cloth and try again.

a very effective way to "start" skeeter pee

I was also hoping to make a batch of this with an abv of around 6%. Did you follow the recipe and add less sugar to achieve that or do something else. And would this stuff be good carbonated?
  19. Guthrie

Ever made a "wine cooler" and I am not talking about adding 7up to a glass of wine

I'll probably carbonate it dry it's just easier.

I have pineapple juice with white grape concentrate in the secondary right now. I would say it's more like a wine cooler than anything else, with an abv of around 6.5. It's clearing nicely now and should be a nice summer drink once carbonated.
