Priming sugar - how much to add?

Thank you for the awesome response! I can bulk prime, there's no problem there. I have 5 gallons of a super hoppy american pale ale. So, boil two cups of water, add 5 oz of sugar and dissolve. Add to secondary, how long do I wait to bottle after mixing it in to secondary? Immediately? Overnight?

Priming sugar - how much to add?

Looking to bottle tonight or tomorrow, and have a few different size bottles. Couple half gallon, couple 750 ml bottles, and couple 1 liter bottles. Is there a general amount of sugar to add to bottles per ounce?

    Photos of club homebrew day

The large rig you see in these photos is owned by a friend of mine who brews commerically. This rig is his practice setup. We got a late start to the brew day so ended up making an easy pale ale, but since we're both hopheads, decided to up the ante and make it extra hoppy. After boil ended up...

Just got a wine barrel-What crazy **** can I do?

Sounds like a great experiment! I like your second choice, the IPA, but I love IPA so I'll always choose that. The barrel needs to stay wet, so for storage purposes, use the solution he gave you and leave it in the barrel when not in use. Yes, you can ferment inside the barrel, however, you'll...

Teenagers in house - how to secure kegs?

I support this poster. As a individual who was NEVER exposed to alcohol prior to college, I can say from personal experience, I should have been introduced to it prior to entering college. If a teenager has no experience to alcohol prior to college, they WILL find it, they WILL drink it, and...

IPA: Fermentation seems slowed/stopped, no aeration

My brewing experience is mostly limited to wine, which I have a very extensive background in. When it comes to wine v. beer, wine is harmed significantly by oxygen, but still needs it to complete fermentation. I will often agitate my wine during the fermenting process to make sure the yeast is...

I'm moving to full boils!!! SCORE!!!

This is what I get for reading fast. I was skimming and saw the words garage saw and then the numbers with a period close to it and my mind put the clues together as you got a pot at a garage sale for $.50, sorry about that my friend. Still, you found yourself a nice score.

Either check with Willoughby Brewing Company about where they source their product from, or go check out Brew Mentor. It's a new brewing store in Mentor, at the corner of 306 and 20.

    Total beginner

I've made about 10 wine kits so I'll throw some of me knowledge in here. Get yourself one of these plastic buckets: The one on the right. It's essentially an over sized paint bucket, holds about 7-8 gallons. For this first kit, a Riesling is not going to ferment that actively, but if...
