Not to name names but homebrewfrank alone has 13 splits. That will be fun to unwind.

Okay, I've got all the grain I need. For some reason the deadline today is making me want to add some grain I don't need. You know, just in case of the apocalypse.

    Which burner?

The bayou classic sp10 is a better (higher btu) burner than the sq14. But the stand for the sp10 sucks for keggles because its round. Bottom line, sq14 is good for 5 gallon batches, 10 gallon go with the sp10. I have not used the jet burner so can't comment on that.

I love the superior pale, but when I ordered it on the last buy they substituted pils. This round I put GW because of that, even though I want the other. I already have more pils than I need.

I have gamma lids and I love them, but the one drawback besides cost is space. when empty they don't nest. not that mine are ever empty but if I buy enough to handle every bag from this and the previous buy, they will end up that way.

Have you tried closing your browser and starting it up again? I'm not involved with tech support or anything but I found I had problems if I left the page open and tried to hit refresh to log in.

Motorize grain mill will a drill?

Here is mine. Nothing fancy, just used an existing small wire shelf. The grain bucket is enclosed in black foam core just to keep dust down.

Oops -- All trub into fermenter

I posted about this recently. Trub is actually good for a more vigorous fermentation. Let the naysayers nay, but I proved it to my own satisfaction.

Motorize grain mill will a drill?

I was just looking on my phone, I could have sworn I took some pics but I guess I didn't. I can try to take a shot tonight when I go for a beer!

Motorize grain mill will a drill?

I did this with a corded drill from Home Depot, around $30. I put the mill on a custom MDF plate cut to size for my milling station (a small one). I had to build it up a little bit under the drill so it wasn't hanging in air. Then I used a tube clamp to go around the drill handle and hold the...

If you could only buy one brand of beer, what would it be?

Sierra Nevada is a good choice. I would also take Lagunitas. [Edit] I meant SN or Lagunitas. But both would be OK too.

    trub and fermentation accidental experiment

Just a pale ale with simcoe/cascade, wyeast 2112. I will try to report back any differences. Upon further reading, starting page 96 they say that hot break trub is the most beneficial, but cold is also good. A vigorous boil helps, as does a longer boil. The takeaway here is not "trub doesn't...

    trub and fermentation accidental experiment

I have read a lot on here on the effects of trub into the fermenter, whether it matters or not. I try to get clean wort into the fermenter but unless I want to leave several gallons in the pot (I don't!) trub and break material always gets in there. I do avoid hops by whirlpooling it into the...
