Pale ale recipe feedback - using up leftovers

Thanks for your reply, that makes sense. Because I want to keep the IBUs down so everyone likes it, this is actually more a Blonde Ale in terms of style. This article (single Willamette addition) by Zainasheff and a blonde ale recipe by a local brewer that uses only a single Amarillo addition...

Pale ale recipe feedback - using up leftovers

Sorry for another recipe feedback thread. I'm not really ready to start designing my own recipes but I have some milled malts I really need to use up and we're moving next week so I figured I'd brew a beer to say thanks to the friends helping with the move. So the goal is a) use up leftovers and...

    Oatmeal IPA?

I was playing around with the same idea today, an oatmeal pale ale. How did this turn out for you?

    Review: Brewjacket Immersion chiller.

Totally forgot about these. Since my new apartment still won't have room for a fermentation-fridge I was already getting ready to bury my ideas of lager beers but I now decided to invest in one of these. They're currently running a kickstarter for the new iteration of the product with heating...

    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

Thanks for your response. I think I'll start by actually measuring the pH of my next mash and then take it from there step by step. It seems just as easy to do something wrong than something right on this subject :|

    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

So today I decided it was time to get into water chemistry. After reading various articles, blog posts and this forum post on the topic, I know more but am just as confused as before. I understand the best way would be to use RO water, but I don't see that happening as I don't want to head to...

Munton's Nut Brown Ale partial mash recipe feedback please

You're making me feel a bit nervous about the Notty. I really can't order any more new stuff this month :D but I guess with US-05 or Wyeast 1056 I can't do any wrong, even if it won't be an English ale. The honey sounds intriguing, do you really get a honey taste after fermentation...

Munton's Nut Brown Ale partial mash recipe feedback please

Thanks for your replies! slym: Why's that? Would I do better with a partial-volume mash? charliehorse: The BIAB thing was more just a general information. My last brew was a BIAB and I am doing BIAB in the future, but I still have a can of Nut Brown LME. The grains I listed are what I have in...

Munton's Nut Brown Ale partial mash recipe feedback please

I just recently made the switch to BIAB but still have a can of Munton's Brown Ale on the shelf. I also have several open bags of grain that I should use up so I figured I would do a partial mash. Here's the recipe I put together...

    Checking in from Switzerland

Ah well then Gruezi right back at ya'. Even though in my neck of the woods we say "Grüessech". If you're ever in Berne I'll be happy to tell you where to get some good brews.

    Things I need.

I too came from an extract brewing kit. I bought a 25L pot, a grain bag and a thermometer. That's pretty much all you need to start with BIAB. I built an immersion chiller and hop spider to go with it, but that's not exclusive to BIAB.

    Checking in from Switzerland

Hello everyone I'm Chris, 27 from Bern, Switzerland. I am very new to this hobby, started late last year, but am already far down the rabbit hole and have read more about brewing these past few months than can be considered healthy :) I've done 3 brews so far, the first 2 were extracts after...
