    Cold snap after bottling

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know. I was afraid that the initial cold snap might kill off yeast or somehow prohibit carbing once the temp warmed up again. Dormant yeast I can handle. Sounds like I need to convince the boss lady to let me store a few cases in the bedroom...although...

    Cold snap after bottling

I was just perusing the thread "After bottling, straight to cold temp or keep at room temp?" and had a question. I usually let my beer set at room temp in my basement for about a month after bottling prior to chilling. I just bottled a pale ale and we had a freakish early October cold snap hit...

    Extra long boil

Excellent. I added a bit more water to make up for the evaporation. I think I can live with a little extra caramelization (it did have a caramel smell). Just more spice for the Winter Warmer!

    Extra long boil

So I was happily watching the wort on my winter warmer boil away when about 30 mins into it I noticed my Hallertau hops sitting on the counter and not in the pot where they should have been. I added them and reset the clock on the boil, a full 55 mins. Just curious if anyone knows if the extra...
