Will a very small sanitizer anchor in the bottle ruin the beer?

I don't see how it's possible to soak a bottle w Starsan, not rinse it, then let it dry. Everytime after I soak the bottles theres tons of bubbles inside the bottle that it would take EONS for them to completely dry out. I might have to do the bottles before I make the beer!

    Please help. Is this mold?

False alarm. I put the bottles in the fridge overnight and viola the floaties are gone. The beer tasted fine as well. Thanks for all those who helped.

    Please help. Is this mold?

btw all the bottles have some floaties just like this one. I used star sans on all of them before bottling, and I bottled them with the foam too, so I figure the bottles are clean, and I did not have moldy like floats in the primary. If it's not mold what can it be? *scratch head*

    Please help. Is this mold?

no infection in primary. I racked to a mr beer keg and mixed with corn sugar solution, then bottle from the keg. I chose a corona bottle for this exact purpose so that I can see what's in the beer. But I can say that when I racked I kicked up quite a few of the yeast cake. But I didn't...

    Please help. Is this mold?

Does this look like mold? If so, is the beer ruined? Notice the floaties on the top near the neck area. The Stout has been bottle conditioned for about a month (I only had time to drink a few bottles).

"home brew" taste. What's the deal?

only 2 weeks total for fermentation will almost surely guarantee rocket fuel taste in your beer. Is that what you mean by all taste the same?

Newbie question: when to add coffee

I'm doing a HME as I'm just a newbie. I'm not using the Mr beer equipment to brew, only using the keg to rack and bottle because I find the spigot very useful when bottling and mixing priming solution. I'm making Oatmeal stout. Want to experiment by adding coffee flavor. Because I like beer...

Open it and look? Fermentation issue

I wouldn't recommend stirring or introducing ANY air into the beer at this point. But one thing no one seemed to have mentioned is that are you sure your bucket is air tight? I've seen krausen subside within about 2-3 days, so if your setup isnt airtight then the airlock won't bubble and you...

    First beer has odd remnent

All homebrews have "gunk" on the bottom. Go to youtube and look up "shoulder pour" and it will minimize the amount you intake. They are harmless however. There's also special caps that they sell online that will trap the floaties eliminating them from your beer. I find that a waste of...

Newbie question: when to add coffee

I'm currently brewing an Outmeal Stout using HME. It is bubbling happily in the primary. I plan to rack to a Mr Beer keg and bottle from there. I would like to add a kick of coffee as an experiment. I plan to make a strong brew, cool it off and add it to the Mr Beer keg along with my corn...

Newbie question - how much sugar for Oatmeal stout?

Looks like a good site. But one problem, it says "The typical range for each beer style (in volumes of CO2) is shown.", somehow Oatmeal Stout is the ONLY one that they don't suggest volumes of CO2 lol... but I guess I can settle for other flavors such as sweet stout. Thank you.

Newbie question - how much sugar for Oatmeal stout?

Hi, I'm currently brewing my 3rd HME batch, which is an Oatmeal Stout. From experience, I recall most commercial stouts are less "bubbly" than other beer types. How much corn sugar should I put in for a 2 gal batch? Also is there any chart available online for amount of sugar to put in for...

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

I go to stores and buy singles so I have had a fair share of sampling, but I have never had a beer I can't finished because it is a sin to waste beer. But for worst commercial beer just about anything with a "Light" in it, i.e. Bud light, Coors light... Can't understand why my friend...
