Add port to stainless brew bucket?

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/threads/soldering-stainless-steel.155782/ Long thread, but great info. Started adding tri-clovers to all of my equipment years ago, have never looked back...

    Condenser question

What's the overall length of the condenser? 3/8" inside 1/2" is a little on the small size, depending on the length. Ideally, there should be no vapor or "chuffing".

    Question about Column/Efficiency

The copper packing will help remove sulfides from the vapor. that's what turns the packing black. 60% ABV is just about right for a pot still.

DIY... A little pricey, but gets the job done, especially if you silver-solder them. https://www.mcmaster.com/5361K42 https://www.mcmaster.com/4452K414

Hey Jaybird, I'd be interested in a lyne arm that has a 3" main tube rather than your normal 2" piece. Is that doable?

    Soldering Stainless steel

I mostly got tired of the fittings loosening on the head and leaking. As the fittings heated up I was able to screw the fittings down tighter as well, there is very little thread exposed. I also clean with hot PBW and can clean the fittings with a bristle brush if necessary, although I've never...

Pressure Transfer from keg to keg

I have about a 16" length that is perfect for my needs. I also use it to pressure transfer from my sanke fermentor.

    Soldering Stainless steel

I have one March and two Chugger Center Input Pumps that have long had tri-clamp connectors screwed on with PTFE tape. I finally got tired of unwinding, cleaning and re-winding the connectors, so I bit the bullet and tried silver soldering the connectors onto the pump head threads. I carefully...

    Chugger pump noise fix

I found this solution about 3 years ago, I don't remember exactly where... I re-install the Teflon tape every 2-3 brew sessions, works like a champ.

New England IPA Blasphemy - No Boil NEIPA

I was getting ready to make another NEIPA so I figured I'd give this a whirl... 12 gallon batch Mash Bill: 22 lbs Pilsen Malt 4 lbs Torrified Wheat 2 lbs Flaked Oats Single infusion mash, 15 gal of strike water. I have a very fine home-made false bottom for my 25 gal Mash Tun, so I set my...

    Insulating a Keggle Mash Tun

I use a RIMS system. If you want to direct-fire the MT, you'll need a fire-resistant insulation.

Who has made bourbon or whiskey?

Mostly a big gooey mess, depending on the type of corn. Cornmeal or cracked corn has to be gelatinized first with near boiling water before attempting to use the malted barley, it also helps to use a high-temperature amylase extract to help break down the gelatinized starches before mashing in...

    Leakey eDrometer

I bought an eDrometer early on and have used it extensively, along with my Tilt and Hanna digital refractometer. When I went to use it today, it appeared to be leaking:eek:. Closer inspection showed the silicone tubing was cracking near the entrance to the device. I went to my trusty computer...
