    Ok went to the LHBS at launch and picked up some 530 yeast. I should have picked up some DME for a starter but I purchased 2 viles so I should be ok with out doing a starter right?

    Sounds good I was thinking about leaving this age in the bottle for awhile also let me know what you find. I am thinking of adding some orange peel to give it some flavor but I wonder if it will make it worse. I have not opened the kit but I am guessing it is a dry yeast correct?

    saving yeast

    Thanks I was wondering what yeast washing was. I did not do that I just saved the stuff at the bottom in a sanatized half gallon but now I will know how to do it right the next time. Thanks, Nick

    I just moved a Oberon clone into secondary and I am thinking of doing another one in the near future. Can I save the yeast cake and put it into a half gallon carboy and put it in the fridge? Or am I better off buying another yeast vile and doing a starter at the start of the next batch...

    Ok I have done the yeast starter and I think it is working. I did the starter on friday at about 2pm so my next questions are when do I need to use it and do I pour the whole thing in or do I need to put it in the fridge and let the yeast settle and pour off the top of it? Thanks
