    Possible coolbot alternative for $35

Move the AC temp sensor to the outside of the cooled area. It will think it's still hot in the chamber when in fact it's only hot outside. Then control the AC with a ranco, aquarium controller or whatever you want. You can also trick the temp sensor with a night light or something to heat it...

    NG Burners?

I have the 23 tip jet burner hooked up to a standard natural gas ball valve on a 3/8" hose and it's very adjustable. I can turn it down to a 2-3" tall flame or crank it to a 16" high flame. It isn't hard to adjust at all and it puts out some serious heat.

BIAB stand. First batch should be in a couple weeks. I need to empty some kegs and fermenters first. Sold the Brutus and went "simple"

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

I understand all the structural things that are being talked about but you have to remember that this hoist is going to be holding 40 pounds. I could duct tape a dowel rod to the side of the stand and it would hold for a while. Most of these brew stands are incredibly over built to hold very...

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

The basket sits down in the kettle, without measuring I'd say over an inch. Right now I don't have a diptube, just a weldess valve. There is enough room for the basket to fit without disturbing the valve so the basket still sits on the bottom of the kettle. To get all the liquid out I would...

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

The basket has four areas that act as standoffs and lift the basket up maybe 1/4" off the bottom. Bolts could easily be added to lift it higher.

Searching to find these buckets locally or cheaper

I bought a couple from him last year. They are really nice buckets but I prefer the plastic conicals.

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

I lose some in the chiller but never really worry about it. I make my batches large enough to have around 11 gallons going into the fermentor so after trub and yeast I have 10 gallons going into kegs. If I was worried about a little loss in a chiller I wouldn't be brewing on an $800 stand...

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

Water test is done. Everyone can relax now about tipping.......including me. With 12 gallons of water in the pot and the boom extended straight out perpendicular to the stand (as far away as possible) it took 60 pounds in the basket to make it start to tip. In the position where it just...

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

Worst case scenario, I add an extension onto the side with a caster to keep it stable. I may test tonight with water in the pot to see how much it takes to make it tipsy.

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

All plumbed and test fired. I went with natural gas this time. I need to install the fittings in the lid for recirculation but that's all. 23 tip burner is intense!

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

I fabricated the hoist/ crane. The winch is just a boat winch for a jetski trailer

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

My friends and wife call my homebrew Jake's Juice. Maybe I should call this "Jakes Juice Stand!"

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

2" square tubing. I used round bar for the burner grate area. The lower cross supports between the legs are 1"x2" tubing. Way overkill for a little stand.

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

The brutus was awesome for the "authentic" brewing style of having multiple kettles but in reality we are trying to get sugar from grain and then boil it. Let's be honest, brewing isn't that hard it's impressing the neighbors that is. lol. I like to brew, clean and then relax in the easiest...

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

I could sell these. I'd change the width to allow the boom to be over the wheels. I'll look into pricing for bare and complete turn key packages. I'd have to look into vendor status as well. I have the materials for several units now.

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

The dimensions would really be dependent on how you wanted it. I used a 20.5 gallon kettle and made the stand to fit the kettle. I think mine is around 22" square and 20" tall plus the casters. I just took the components I had and made them fit how I wanted. The burner, chiller, pump, kettle...

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

The kettle is the Bayou Classic 82 quart with steamer basket. Batch size, I guess that depends on how big the grain bill is. I usually only do 10 gallon batches so I think I'll be ok with about anything I want to brew. I could always sparge if there is a need. Low gravity beers I could...

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

By the way, the swivel below the hoist is a caster wheel assembly for a trailer tongue. I had one without the wheel so I flipped it upside down and welding the upper half of the hoist to it. The lower half is just pinned onto the tubing. Works like a charm and swivels 360 degrees to lower the...
