3 FLoyds Zombie Dust attempt. Help/info requested

I bottled my first batch on Saturday. Ended up with 88 bottles of awesome. I can't wait to try them when they're not flat.

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

You need some Three Floyds Jinx Proof.

Brewing a 10 gallon batch in two hours... for the 2nd time this month.

Can I have your bong water, than?

You didn't enjoy the viscous texture and lovely molasses and soy sauce flavors either? I think we are in agreement with this being one of the worst beers ever. I'd take a Hamms (...from the sky blue waters) over the triple any day.

    Wine: kits Vs. scratch

To everyone that thinks not using estate grown grapes is cheating, many a commercial winery contract outside vineyards to grow grapes for them. A lot of wineries also buy bulk juice from growers (must stores better once it's pressed) and make wine from that, and more than a few commercial...

    Wine: kits Vs. scratch

Kits are much faster and hard to mess up, but if you have the knowledge and time frozen must or grapes will produce MUCH better wines. I find red kit wines to finish thin and they also have a distinct taste that I can't get over. I've added finishing tannins and oak to kits and they were...

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

I bought a bottle too. We're going to try it next Saturday during our Zombie Dust clone session. If it's not that great, I'm glad I'll have some friends to share the displeasure with. :tank:

Is the 6 gallon recipe for 6 gallons of wort, pre-boil, or 6 gallons in primary?

    Sanitation routine

George, the KMS that came in the kit was, most likely, not for sanitizing. It is used to prevent oxidation and bacterial spoilage in the wine. Every kit I've made has had me add the KMS packet after primary fermentation. Buy yourself a few ounces of KMS and Citric acid for sanitizing (the...

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

I like #9 as well. I don't think the apricot is over powering like, say a Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss. There's another crap beer to add to the list: Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss. I think it's just rebottled some Bartles & James.

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

A friend of mine swears that the Bud Light Chelada is just like drinking a steak. He must eat some pretty crappy steak.

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

Sam Adams Triple Bock and Momma Mia Pizza Beer come to mind as some truly repulsive brews. The Triple tasted like soy and molasses. Let's just say that pizza and beer should be mixed in my belly, not during primary.

I just received a pound of citra and ordered a 20 gallon Boilermaker. Guess what I'm doing next week! Is the first recipe listed the closest so far?

    Wanted: Top Tier System

Brew and Grow in Crystal Lake has one for sale with 2 burners and 2 15 gallon pots. I think the third burner and pot are on order.

Hops plants came in this morning!

I just received my order from Great Lakes Hops. I must say that I'm really impressed with the order. They came in about twice the size pictured and were individually packaged and labeled. I got a plant of the following shipped for less than price my local shop was charging for rhizomes...

    Cheers, from the Chicago burbs.

Thanks for the welcome. I think I might have had the bucket in too warm a spot. I placed it in my utility sink until it stopped foaming out of the blow off. It quieted down a little after that, and I've since moved it to a cooler closet. It's been steadily bubbling for the last 24 hours or...

    Cheers, from the Chicago burbs.

Hi all. Just started my second brew yesterday (I don't really count the first one. It was a 1 gallon hemp beer kit I made 10 years ago). It turned out to be pretty good, but I didn't have the right equipment to make it worth the effort and never got back into. Recently I decided I was going...
