Mash Re-circulation & Grain Husk Wort

Yes control through valve leaving pump. I'm almost positive your not letting your grain bed settle. Although like previous poster mentioned watch the return wort for channeling...I'm ghetto and place a piece of tin foil with slits in it on top of my grain bed.

Mash Re-circulation & Grain Husk Wort

How fast are recirculated? I recirculate for the last 45 min of mash and while bringing temp up for sparge. I am direct fire with a keggle. you definitely have a problem somewhere as recirculating should help clear the wort. After mashing in I let everything sit for 15 min before starting...

    Watlow or Omron temp. controllers?

Using it for maintaining HLT temp with herms (eventually) and BK once sparge is complete. Don't think the watlow has DC output?

    Watlow or Omron temp. controllers?

With the element running at 100% would have hard time with boil overs and have a lot of boil off
  16. B

    Watlow or Omron temp. controllers?

Want to throttle the heating element back to say 70-80% for the boil.
