    Stainless Camlocks review

c & D for hoses. Probably the C for hoses, both ends. F for male 1/2" fitting like into T or ball valve. A type for female 1/2 to go over a nipple. Keep the cam lock ends on hoses.

Looking for a pump to replace my March 809 Pump

Check brushes on pump, not sure on March if they are accesible. Most motors stop IMHO because brushes wear down.

Cutting Mitres for a keezer collar

When building cabinets, I make sure the carcass, is small enough to fit, doesn't need to be tight. The faceframe, the part you really see, can then be made to fit perfect. Working with wood, is all about practice, tricks, and jigs. The tools mean very little if you know some tricks...

    First use of Barley Crusher

Barley Crusher is very versatile, easy to use and clean. I ripped out the O-ring. I was afraid it would break during a grind and would have to find the pieces. I tried to set a drill up to it permanently, with gear and chain, but the torque was too high and much easier to just use a cordless...

Cutting Mitres for a keezer collar

Cut four short pieces at 45's same length cuts on both ends. Rough assemble and you should have a perfect square. This technique multiplies error, so you will see the slightest of misalignments. Good luck

    Stainless Camlocks review

Switched over to these and have used for two brewing sessions. With Sili hose, great! Easy to use, attach move, etc... They clean easy and are easy to use. One handed technique comes quickly if you focus on pulling both sides back at the same rate. Also when initially joining, push in a...

    Copper Hardware issue

I made a CFC out of extra 3/4 hose which is great because it has a beed alway through for turbulence. 3/8" copper tupe through it. For me it was about using what I had, and savinf coin for stainless fittings. Sounds like what you have will work and will look nice. Look forward to seeing...

Quick questions about single tier build

you might want one to run lines and wires through. That would be my only thought. Structurally that could hold a car, or two. So for me it comes down to aesthetics and trying to hide some of the wires, pipes, etc... Best of luck, I just finished my stand, just cranked on the...

Anyone ever re-capped/corked marinelli's sparkling cider bottles?

They seem to work with a hand-capper. I am testing some bottles. Most hand-cappers can cap 26 and 29 size. Flip the bottom plates around to 29 and use the 26 top, at it seems to work.

    Brew Stand Height

I like overkill, but I think 2" is way overkill. I used 1" tubing. The top of my stand in 30" off the ground. Single level. One pump. Liquor from MLT can go into bucket then get poured into BK for now. Wort chiller outfeed is 22" from ground, but with pump it doesn't matter. If you are...

    Instant Brew Stand?

I am in the final stages of my build. I have around $300 in materials (metal, weld wire, gas, paint, primer, etc.) That does not include nuts and bolts. Most things I fabricated to keep cost down. Tap and die will save nuts and bolt costs. I'll post a picture when completed.

Will this regulator work on a disposable oxygen tank?

Disposable oxygen tanks are reverse threaded. You will need to make sure that you have the right fitting.

Questioning homebrew norms after persistent phenolic taste

are you bungs or corks funky. Although they might seem clean, I get new ones periodically because I am afraid of the funk. Same with tubing, eventhough everything gets cleaned in PBW and starsan'd, I find the white rubber bungs to get a little twangy after certain batches. IMHO no matter what...

    Wheat Beer ?

Thanks for the link. I will have to experiment with this. I am a new brewer and will always be learning like a new brewer, so thanks for the info! I will have to design some experiments on split batches. Thanks for all the advice

    Grain mill question

I have heard numerous times that its not needed, unless you are doing wheat without an adjustment, then I have been told to run the wheat through onces, then run it through with all the rest of the grain. Keep track of the "gap" distance (.034, etc..) You can make adjustments. Run the grain...

    Wheat Beer ?

I racked to get off the inactive yeast, wasn't meant to eliminate any cloudiness. I am stuck on 1,2,3 for fermenting. 1 week in primary, 2 in 2nd ,and 3+ in bottle. Better suggestions for wheat next time?

    Mash tonight, boil tomorrow?

If you cap with co2 will it keep the activity down? I know they cap malt syrup with it? Anyone?

    Wheat Beer ?
