Transmit Tilt Hydrometer to ESP32 microcontroller

Not a typo, here is the version I used. I didn't think it was working at first, but it was. For whatever reason, it was only repeating the reading about every 66 seconds. I kept moving my Pi as far as I could without unplugging it. The readings started coming over a minute apart and I thought it...

Transmit Tilt Hydrometer to ESP32 microcontroller

Not sure if this is the sketch you're using, but here is a Tilt Repeater sketch for the ESP32. I had no issues with loading it on an ESP32S.

    ESP32 inside fermentation fridge?

Yeah, that's the project I was referring to.

    ESP32 inside fermentation fridge?

Thanks for the input guys! I have programmed and tested the repeaters and they work! Now I just have to add some ac to dc converters to my controllers to power them. Hopefully, then I won't have to hang my TiltPi in front of my fermentation fridges.

    What is your “flagship” beer?

My personal go-to would probably be my "Such a Brut" IPA, a fruity, crushable 8% Brut IPA that I usually make 10 gal at a time and can drink one after another. Among others, it would probably be my "Vote for Pedro" Mexican Lager.

    ESP32 inside fermentation fridge?

Thanks @crane, I guess what I was most concerned with is, can the ESP32 survive sealed inside an enclosure inside the fermentation fridge. I don't know how much heat they can generate. Normally, they would never see higher than about 70 deg F, but I have run Kveik yeast up to 85 deg F. Will...

    ESP32 inside fermentation fridge?

I have a couple Tilt Hydrometers that I use with Tilt Pi, but sometimes have difficulty getting readings through my stainless fermenters and fridge to the Pi. I found a great ESP32 Tilt Repeater project on GitHub that I believe will help a lot. I'm wondering if the moisture inside the fridge...

    Brewing Salts in Herms HLT

I use Brun' Water to calculate my brewing salt additions. My HLT is large enough to hold all my strike and sparge volume, plus a little extra for keeping my HEX coil fully submerged during mash. I add salts to all of the water, with the exception of Baking Soda or Pickling lime, which should...

I built a walk in cooler - on wheels

Nice build! Just curious, why on wheels?

    Kicked keg CO2 uses

I'd never thought of this. I like it! I generally keep a keg full of starsan and C02 push it to another clean empty whenever I'm ready to keg a beer. I don't see a problem doing it ahead of time if I had a kicked keg to push it with. Since I was recently laid off and going back to school for the...

    New to HERMS System

I do this as well, but I heat the strike water to about 5 or 6 degrees hotter than Beersmith calls for and add it to the mash tun, stirring it until it settles to the correct temp before adding grain. This preheats the tun to the perfect temp, and If you uncheck "adjust temp for equipment" and...

Best way to work with co2 extract (hopshot)

I've never measured the amount, but i'd guess about an ounce for one 3ml syringe, a little more for multiple syringes. I've just used a 1 cup metal measuring cup and stirred it with something like a Popsicle stick until it dissolved. The higher the alcohol proof, the easier it will be to...

Best way to work with co2 extract (hopshot)

This is exactly what I did as well. The way I use the extract is to fully dissolve it in some grain alcohol in a metal measuring cup and add it BEFORE reaching a boil. The problem with adding extract directly to the kettle is it won't dissolve well and wants to just go to the side of the kettle...
