Using PC case fans, questions on wiring multiple fans

Same WATTAGE or same VOLTAGE? They are distinctly different things. If the output voltage of your power supply matches the input voltage of your fan, this will work great as long as the rated wattage (or "power capacity") of the supply exceeds the power requirement of the fan - which is highly...

    Moving CO2 Outside - Decisions

Is it necessary to mount the regulators to the side of the coffin? I have a two body primary regulator like you, and I leave mine attached to my 20# tank outside my keezer. The two gas lines each penetrate the collar, and each feeds its own manifold mounted on the inside (in my case, I have a...

    Erupting Bottles After Opening

I've had similar experiences with bottling when I didn't adequately mix in my priming sugar solution. Some bottles got more sugar (and fruit flavor concentrate, for that particular wheat beer), and gushed. Others didn't. Were you diligent about stirring the beer gently to mix in the sugar? I've...

Can I bottle yet?(I have gravity readings)

While I agree that you are probably safe to bottle, I personally cannot recommend trusting airlock activity at all to determine the status of any fermentation. I agree that you should take another gravity reading tomorrow before you commit to bottling. Purists will insist it takes at least...

    Leaving keg overnight without co2

You can't bring your CO2 tank along for the ride? I don't know what size tank you have, but my 5# tank is fairly portable. My 20# tank, on the other hand... In my experience, most of my kegs take a bit of pressure to seal properly. I can just see the keg slumping over in the car seat and...

    Drip Tray - Building Keezer

Welcome to HBT! Check out barproducts.com - they have a 19" tray that isn't particularly fancy, but the price is right. I'd directly link, but I'm afraid I can't, (the bar products website is clunky at best). Head to the website and search and you should have no trouble finding it.

    LHBS in Colorado - Suggestions?

Hop To It is actually a separate location of it's own in Boulder, owned by the same company as Stomp Them Grapes in Denver. Those two places have been my favorites in the Denver area, though admittedly I haven't made it all the way out to the Brew Hut yet. There's also Do Your Brew in...

I realize for better/for worse ball lock are more desirable kegs, but why?

I went with a keezer design myself, and that is actually exactly why the extra inch of width on pin locks DOES bother me. In my keezer (GE 7.0), I can fit 5 ball locks with a collar, but only 4 pin locks. Sent from my EVO using Home Brew Talk

    Keezer "5ive"

Looking forward to seeing the LEDs in action. I thought I had an original idea in using the RGB strips - obviously not, since you're beating me to the execution! Can't wait to see the final results.

Ok to Keg 2.5g in a 5g Corny?

The headspace is only an issue if you are trying to keg condition with priming sugar. If you are force carbing (as it sounds like you are), this should be no problem. I split 5 gallon batches with my brewing partner, so we do this all the time without issue. As blackbear said, no need to...

CO2 outside / air manifold mounting inside

Derrr...... :o Missed that somehow. Forget my misplaced, inappropriate advice from before... Whoops! Usually, fridge/freezer combos do the cooling in the freezer and "share the love" with the fridge compartment. These are a safer bet to drill through than a chest freezer, but I'd still...

CO2 outside / air manifold mounting inside

Are you going to install a collar? I put a collar on my 7.0cf GE, which allowed me to A.) mount my manifolds without fear of hitting a refrigerant line, B.) drill holes for gas lines to run in from my regulators without fear of hitting a refrigerant line, and C.) improve my capacity from 3 kegs...

    Revvy's dip tube

I got my stopper at my LHBS, and picked up my bottling spigot at the same time. I test fitted the stopper on-site to figure out the best size. As for the dip tube, I bought a new racking cane and used the curved portion from the top for my dip tube. The remaining length has worked well for my...

    perlick faucets... chrome or SS?

My brew water also isn't carbonated or acidic, so that theory goes right out the window in my book. I went with all SS faucets, shanks, and tailpieces, mostly because I'm looking at them as an investment. I'd rather buy SS components once and use them for a lifetime than buy multiple chrome...

Just bought freezer.. need help sourcing the rest.

I have both types of regulators that KC offers, and my vote is definitely for the Taprite. I've had some unreliable gauges on the in-house, and the Taprite is much easier to adjust, since it doesn't need a screwdriver. As for dual body, I personally went for it, and along with a few manifolds...

    Keezer Build Supplies List

Be sure that all of your shanks also have nuts and tailpieces. Sometimes they come with it, sometimes they do not. For my 5-keg rig, I have a dual reg, one 5-way manifold, and one 2-way manifold. This way, I can use up to 5 kegs on one pressure, and up to 2 on the other. Everything is MFL...

    label keg contents

I use tags like these that I picked up from Harbor Freight. I bought a multi-pack of caribiners (also from HF), and use the smallest size on the tags, to latch them onto the relief valves or lid handles.

    Question on corny keg

This. My LHBS just got ball lock kegs back in stock... for $70/ea used, or $120/ea brand new. Lots of online retailers don't have any ball lock kegs in stock, and those that do charge $50+ for used kegs. Jump on this! Now!

    LHBS Advice

Does she add priming sugar before hitting it with 30psi? Just the CO2 from one blast of 30psi won't do the trick. If priming sugar is added, then yes, this sounds right. The 30psi just seats the lid seal while the yeast do their natural carb magic. If you do this, just know that it takes...
