    Fermentation Freezer Discussion

Well now that the new brew rig is in the books and working like a champ, SWMBO has informed me that the spare bathroom I have been using for fermentation (aquarium water chiller in the tub) is no longer available for such uses... Guess I'll have to build a fermentation fridge....:ban...

Wife's reaction to new brewing hobby?

You know what you did wrong if your wife / girlfriend keeps coming out of the kitchen to bug you about your hobbies? . . . . . . . . . . . . .. Tied her chain too long!!!! Another bad one I know... But I am blessed to have married an extremely tolerant woman.. JT

    Just Realized...

I have been kegging exclusively for a couple of years and never submit any of my beers to competitions so I just realized I have an awesome label printer for bottles! A few years back I bought a Primera LX-400 for another project that has been collecting dust in a closet ever since.. Anyone need...

    Perfect... It's Raining..

All came out well.. Came in at 078 instead of 080 but outside of that I'm pretty happy with the wort profile.. Tasted just like pumpkin pie! Pitched a few hours ago and expect to see a nice krausen tomorrow when I get home from work.. I'm sure I'm gonna loose more of this beer than I wanted to...

    Brew Day 9-13

Ended up at 11.5 gallons post-boil.. Should be just about right to compensate for all of the pumpkin and garbage... Anyone know off hand what the generally accepted temperature is to avoid hot side aeration?

    Brew Day 9-13

Man I am sweating the boil on this batch.. I usually boil 12 gallons for these l10gallon batches, which is already pushing the limits of the 15g Blingmann.. I have 8lbs of pumpkin going in this one as well.. Can anyone say boil over?

    Perfect... It's Raining..

Got up early this morning and started the Great Pumpkin Ale (10 gallons worth).. Just started the mash and it has commenced to pouring down rain.. I run my brew rig in the garage so no problems with the mash (unless I lose power), but I usually boil on the driveway.. Guess I'll be heating...
