    Crankandstein 3 roller concept

I have one and I like it. I don't have anything to comapre it too though. I do know a lot of people will mill their grain twice, the second time at a narrower setting, I think this just accomplishes that in a single pass. I do get a very smooth consistent crush.

    Good Deal On Thermowell

Thanks for the business! That is a good deal on a thermowell. I just added threaded thermowells to the line. I was reluctant to do so because there are so many other ones out there for so cheap, but after pointing a couple would-be customers that direction, they all tended to come back with...

Poor March Pump 809 HS Flowrate

Oops, i got your OP crossed up with Baron's post about the 20' X 3/8" HEX.

Poor March Pump 809 HS Flowrate

If you're not seeing bubbles in the effluent line, then you're not cavitating and therefore getting all the flow you'll get. That's my experience anyway. It just takes a tiny bit of air in that pump housing and the flow rate plummets. That was my main reason for going with Tri Clover...

    Blichmann Boilermaker sight glass

I have one I use as a MLT. It does not leak a drop and I just flush it with a hose and all is good. It actually has an allen plug in the top that can be removed and comes with a brush. For a MLT, however, I have a problem with it sucking air while I'm pumping when it's a low gravity beer.

    Looking for Tri-Clover fittings

Seriously? Why be in business if you hate your customers? I think I'll add that to my 'Reasons to buy from me': "Because at Brewer's Hardware, we don't hate our customers, we actually like them!" ROFLOL

    diy stirplate lm317 help

Thanks! A couple things to look at. Make sure you have the proper orientation on the LM317. It's easy to flip them backwards and confuse the Vin with the Adjust. Second, the common schematic out there doesn't really show how to wire the adjustment pot, it looks like you just use the center...

    Other sanitizers?

One of the guys in my brew club was out and needed sanitizer in a hurry. He found a no rinse sanitizer at Smart and Final and he's never looked back. If I recall, it's an acid-based no-rinse sanitizer that was about 1/2 the price of Star San. Star San goes such a long way that I don't think...

    Probe Polarity for Love TS??

Like Lamarguy said, doesn't matter. It's just a resistor that varies resistance based on temperature, hence the name 'thermistor'

    Pump Recommendations

I tried using the stainless housed pump from Harbor Freight. They're only around $35 if I remember but they're 12VDC, not 110VAC. My plan though was to build a nice speed controller and be able to literally dial in the speed or have the flow adjust via an Arduino Seemed like a great idea...

energy use with a johnson controller

Like Donner, I don't have any practical experience with this but just based on the fact that it's not operating all the time I would think it would have to reduce energy costs. What I will add though is make sure you go through and vacuum off the condenser coils. Build up of dust and dirt on...

    Do not order from stir-plate.com

I'm really sorry about messing up your brew session and the lack of communication. As I mentioned in my email response; I got called out of town on business and have been in meetings for about 10 hours a day for the last week that all spilled over into business dinners. I was trying to respond...

    I'm done brewing

My understanding is that chloramine can lead to chlorophenol. You can crush 1/2 a campden (sp?) tablet per 10G or water and it will remove both chlormine and chlorine almost instantly.

    I'm done brewing

I know how much it sucks to get a bug in your brewery. I had some issues lately with a very tart green apple flavor that would creep up. Not so bad you couldn't drink the beer but definitely an infection and not an off-flavor and really annoying. I found I'd gone too long between breaking...

Stainless Brutus stand - Not Mine (Orange County)

While I still have it, there are a couple local guys that are working out details and then a short list of people who'd want it shipped if the local guys fall through. It is .065 wall tubing I have a 20G 2-tier made from .065 wall 1X2 and it's more than strong enough. I'm pretty sure I...

Stainless Brutus stand - Not Mine (Orange County)

Yes. That's the plan. There is still a lot to do before I'm ready. I need to secure a reliable and reasonable source for burners and sort out the shipping logistics. My intention is to have it available with low-pressure (for easier automation) propane burners installed, casters and 2 pump...

Stainless Brutus stand - Not Mine (Orange County)

Ah ha! This post explains why I got 5 emails about this last night.... lol This is my Craigslist Ad, it's Orange County, CA. I didn't post this for sale here since I'm not officially selling this through Brewer's Hardware and I was trying to not to confuse things. This stand was built...

    Chillus Convolutus vs Therminator?

Can't answer specifically, but I used to have a Chillus Convolutus. I know a lot of people post they can pump full throttle through it and get wort at whatever the input temperature is. That was not my experience. I used to have to close my ball valve about half way to slow the flow down...
