    Can these keggles be fixed?

No worries, let me expand... You are really looking at two issues, oxidation at the weld and sugaring. Stainless steel is stainless because of the chromium in the alloy. When exposed to oxygen, it forms a layer of chromium oxide which protects the metal from rust and is super hard. It's...

    14g conical cooling

Here's an old thread that had some picts of what I did. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/home-made-glycol-chiller-c-unit-103280/ Not cheap, but I like that it doens't take up any more space.

    14g conical cooling

Several years ago I wrapped my conicals with copper coils and built a glycol chiller out of a window A/C unit. Still working great and allows me to independently control two conicals and dang near any temp I want regardless of ambient. I had a complete write up on it that, sadly, was lost a...

Breast pump to replace march pump?

ROFLOL! Thanks guys! I needed this therapy today. All these things do is create a very slight vacuum in a collection cup. They don't actually pump anything. At least that's all the $$$$$$$$$$$$ one we bought did. You could buy about 3 March pumps for what that thing cost us.

    Can these keggles be fixed?

Based on the better pictures, they weren't back-gassed and what you see there is sugaring. Not a big deal on the hot side of your brewery but if you can I would try to grind off the sugaring with a Dremel and re-passivate the area around the welds otherwise they will rust. BKF and a stainless...

Tri Clover Plate Chiller Brew Porn!

Thanks everyone! I'll be sure to post back how well it works once I actually get to brew again. Between not having had my own brewery since January, building a bunch of cool custom stuff for people and then sitting in on a water chemistry lecture at my LHBS by none other than John Palmer; I've...

Tri Clover Plate Chiller Brew Porn!

I haven't had time to post in a while but I just finished welding up a plate chiller for my own brewery so I figured I owed you guys a little brewery porn :ban: There are tri clover temp probes that go with it to monitor I/O temps. Close up of the coolant in/ wort out side of things...

    RIMS HERMS help

An SSR is a solid state relay. There are no mechanical contacts and they can react very fast. I wrote a little primer on home brewery automation that might help. It's a work in process so I'm interested in comments. In a nutshell though, RIMS passes your wort across a heat source (heating...

    HD lawn QD's ok?

I used them for quite a while. I replaced the o-rings with silicone ones, but couldn't find one that was exactly right. They also have a tendancy to air bleed in the inlet side of a pump which is annoying as hell. Always connect them with the o-rings wet, that helps a lot with the bleed thing...

    Free stir plate!

Welp, After all was said and done, I decided to stay with my existing tag line. I might be overly attached. But, since it would be pretty lame to hold a contest and not have a winner, with the help of a few friends I did pick 'a winner'. HBT user Daddymem won with: <drumrole>...

    Free stir plate!

Thanks everyone for the overwhelming response! I know I said I'd announce a winner yesterday, but I still have a lot to decide from. I also had a lot of people say they liked the tag line I was using so I might even just keep it. Even if I do, I'm a man of my word so I'll pick a first runner...

    Free stir plate!

Great response everyone! Keep them coming! I've got quite a few that are really good!! Ya know.... This was actually quite a sticking point for me for a while. I really like the character of the old site and I test drove a few 'carts' that were supposed to 'integrate seemlesly into your...

    Stir bars

Have you had anything shipped from him recently? He was my original source for stir bars. He was great to deal with then all of the sudden, NO communication as if the guy died. I had to do a charge back. I watched his eBay account go from a great feedback rating to a ton of negative feedback...

    Free stir plate!

I'm very close to launching the all new Brewers Hardware website. I'd settled on the tag-line: "Everything You've Always Wanted for Your Brewery." But as I was just looking for some parts, I realized B3 uses the tag-line "Absolutely Everything for Beer Making" I really don't want to get...

    Sanke Fermenter Conversion

I'm not sure. If you can email (or post) a picture of the connector I can tell you. The tri clover clamp connects around and over the Sanke connector. The only ones i know for sure work are the "American Type Sanke Connector" Our local brewery has some kegs that take a regular Sanke coupler...

Need Help with Natural Gas Line

I have never seen so many gas lines in a house. Not to mention what look like flexible lines. Not that I'm an expert, but I'd consult one in your case.

    Natural Gas Connection Question

That's the same thing I found. That's one of the problems with NG, you need very large diameter hose to supply enough volume. I'm on the wrong computer so I can't find the link to the hose dealer I'd found. Do a Google search for propane backup generators. Excpect to spend over a hundred.

20G 2-Tier Brewery Orange County, CA

This time I finally tied up all the loose ends so this is ready to actually sell. I put this up for sale quite some time back with the intention that I'd keep the digital gas system. Then a friend pointed out that it really makes the system and I should include it. Well, it wasn't really...

    Gas Grill

Tried once a long time ago. it didn't work. Just not enough BTU's to get the job done. It was an extract batch and after 3 hours of never really boiling I gave up and fermented it.
