High Flow CamLock Coupler X Barb from Brewers Hardware

Hi Guys! Seeing as how the biggest complaint with CamLocks had been the tiny ID on the coupler X barb fittings, we invested in our own mold at the foundry that is making our new line of cam and groove couplers. The ID is just over 1/2" and 1/2" silicone tubing will stretch right over it as...

    Brewers Hardware????

Hi Guys, First off: My sincerest apologies for those of you that I've let experience my own growing pains. Brewers Hardware is not running the way I want it to be, my communication sucks right now and I'm working to fix it. Thanks to all of you; I've been extremely busy and I've let my...

    Temp sensor fluctuation

Thanks for the compliment Malfet! Layne, I sent you the actual spec sheet from Vishay on the thermistors used to build the probes and the coefficients I came up with and have been using are here: BCS Temperature Probe Instructions If there does turn out to be a problem with my sensors I'll...

    Square Tubing Size

I built my first one out of 1X2 16 gauge (.065 wall). The rest I've built with 2X2 16 gauge. Haven't tried 1.25 square, but I will say square tubing is much easier to fit up than rectangle!

New 1/2" Full Bore Barb Fittings

After looking high and low for a 1/2" barb fitting that didn't choke down to 3/8", I finally had one made: Side X side with a standard 1/2" hose barb: Comparison of bore diamters: 1/2" full bore hose barb

    Whirlpool Attachment Question

Sorry for the late reply. I only used it once without the stand and I can't remember what the result was. I thought I'd taken notes, but I can't find them. Sounds like there have been other good suggestions though.

    Whirlpool Attachment Question

In my 26G kettle, I stood the IC about 2" off the bottom of the kettle and that seemed to really help with the cone pile formation. I built a copper whirlpool return that was my shelf. I wish I had pictures, but what I did was build a long "L" that came down the kettle wall, turned 90...

    Best way to mount burners

I don't have them on my website yet, but I have burner rings made for the BG14 burners. They are 12" diameter X 4" tall with 3 sets of burner mount holes and 1 set of stand mount holes, made from 18 gauge 304. They're $24 each of 3 for $60 plus shipping.

    New Brewery Test Batch #1

I'm going to install a BrewTroller as well, but I installed the BCS 1st. SInce I build sensors for both and a lot of people email me asking for unbiased answers on both I decided to improve my first hand knowledge of both platforms. Yes! Especially when used with automation of any kind. I...

    New Brewery Test Batch #1

I have a lot of loose ends to tie up like mounting pumps and other stuff. Need dip tubes for the HLT and BK and need to weld in the whirlpool return on the boil kettle. Then there's installing the whole burner ignition stuff and hard mounting the electronics... Lots and lots to do but since I...

Tri Clover Plate Chiller Brew Porn!

I cut a flange off, then faced the end on my lathe, then polished it before welding it. I just barely slid them together in an effort to reduce any internal pocket. Long ferrules will not work without an extension, the ports are too close together and need some breathing room to get clamps...

March pump wont pump high temperatures. above 190...

Initially I was using brass garden QD's but they tend to leak a little which is just enough to allow a slight air-bleed into the pump and cause cavitation. I switched to tri clover fittings and never had a problem again. When I first did it, I used a piece of wire looped around the pump and...

March pump wont pump high temperatures. above 190...

I'm with you 100%. The problem is you won't find anything that will perform any better than the March pump at anything less than double the price and then even that is a gamble. On my last system, I just hung the pump right off the vessel valve QD and that elminated most all of my problems...

SS Weld fittings for gas manifold?

Think about the valves you intend to use and if you will need a fitting to mate to them. If you're using standard gas ball valves, they usually have 1/2" FPT on the inlet and so 1/2"MPT fittings welded to the manifold would be best. If you're going to use an automated valve or a second...
