Can I convert a carbonation keg lid to dispense?

I purchased 4 of them used during an internet sale. This is the first time I've used this one. So, yeah, that could play a role, but even then, it doesn't make sense why it won't dispense. Question: (and maybe relevant) ... Have you ever had a post "bottom out" when tightening it down? This one...

Can I convert a carbonation keg lid to dispense?

The post and poppit were clear of debris. The floating dip tube has a filter screen on the end of it. When I pulled the 20" or so of dip tube out through the liquid out port for inspection, the tubing was also clear of debris. I did not pull out completely as the float was still connected. Also...

Can I convert a carbonation keg lid to dispense?

Here is a 3-minute video I just made illustrating the issue. These kegs are stamped Pepsi-Cola. I was not able to locate any specific sites listing part specs or product numbers or "Pepsi-specific" parts other than the general "we have ball lock posts for your corny keg".

Can I convert a carbonation keg lid to dispense?

For clarification, what is the difference between "post" and "poppit"? Isn't the "poppit" the spring inside the "post"? Orrrrr maybe, that's the "valve" in the "poppit [connector]" which connects onto the [non-removable] "post" built into the keg.

Can I convert a carbonation keg lid to dispense?

I'm at a loss of what to do. I have tried every conceivable scenario. I really don't want to go through the entire scenario again, but it if will help, I will do all over so I can record a video to show you. I really don't want to tho. Haha I'm tired. I've been at this since 8 this morning. Now...

Can I convert a carbonation keg lid to dispense?

Hi, I have a liquid post on a keg that will not dispense beer. I have tried 3 different connectors by 2 different companies. I have tried my regular faucet line as well as a party tap, but the beer will not dispense (so, make that 4 connectors by 3 different companies). I gotta get the beer out...

    Cream ale hops medley

That's exactly what I'm going for! @ "wayyy too [sic] happy." I don't wanna make sad beers. Hahaha (I'm not poking fun, but I loved the accidental wording! Your overall reply got me really excited to try out this recipe!) Btw, I think I may opt out of the flaked corn since this recipe has...

    Cream ale hops medley

Let's do that! Hahaha I like the sound of it! okay, people, forget the cream ale. (Maybe I should rename the thread?)

    Cream ale hops medley

Hi, I'm getting ready to brew a cream ale, but I'm gonna do some things differently. I would like your input on hops. The recipe is 5gal all-grain. 7# marris otter 2-row 3/4# honey malt 1/4# Belgian biscuit malt 1oz cascade @ :60 S-05 yeast Changes I'm making to that recipe for both creative...

    Thanks! I'll look into that.

    Faucet handle resistance really weak

Hi, This is my first keezer build, so I'm still learning things. Is it normal for the faucet handles to have very little resistance? I mean, I have to be careful to keep from bumping into them or they will open the valve and begin dispensing beer. They are new Ferroday faucets if that helps...

    How to repair keg post?

Okay, I got it resolved. It just needed a new O-ring. I first tried teflon tape (generic plumber's thread-wrap) on the gas post, which didn't work, but perhaps I didn't wrap the threads enough times; however, I believe I read that Teflon tape is a lubricant for threads and not an actual sealer...

    How to repair keg post?

Thanks everyone for your input!! I have been doing tedious cleaning all day and have hit a wall. Time for a drink! I will report back tomorrow if all goes to plan. Cheers!

    How to repair keg post?

So, you don't think it's a cracked housing in the black plastic collar on the keg?

    How to repair keg post?

Here is perhaps a better picture. So I installed a new O-ring on the dip tube as well. I cut the gas dip tube short like you mentioned on another forum thread. Did I cut it too short?

    How to repair keg post?

Hi, I've been cleaning kegs today to get ready for some pressure fermenting in said kegs. After alkaline-cleaned, sanitized and O-rings lubed, I put 14lbs of CO2 on each one. One of them has a leak around the gas post. When the kegs arrived, I noticed that post was tilting a little to the right...

    What about right-angle beer line?

Both Williams Brewing as well as Bader Brewing supply houses carry DuoTight connectors. (Is it okay to post site links since I'm not self-promoting?) Regarding the male-to-female connectors, are you talking about the 90° connectors? Aren't they considered female to female, but one side is...

    What about right-angle beer line?

Oh, after bottoming-out, you should back out the tubing just a hair?! Noted! Thank you for that clarification. I haven't been doing so and haven't had any issues so far, but I'll keep a close eye on it. Cheers!

    What about right-angle beer line?

Yes, I agree! @ If you have inserted to tubing until it bottoms-out against the bulkhead, there will not be any problems. The first day I used this setup, I had CO2 leaks in a couple of the connectors and when I checked them, I found I was able to push the tubing in farther. As the tubing...

    What about right-angle beer line?

@DuncB I learned about those blue clips for RO systems from this post: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/questions-about-the-duotight-evabarrier-system-for-my-keezer.691407/post-9088084 The DuoTight connectors have a double O-ring in them to seal the tubing connection, which is sufficient...
