Half acre does tours saturday at noon but get there an hour early if you want to get in.

I have a couple highlander kettles and love them. Great value. I have no idea why some would consider them less durable than steel unless extreme misuse is planned. They have little in common with the thin kettles that come with a cheap turkey fry kit.

Bought some nugget and cascade from antons in Evanston this morning. They had some nice growth already. I ran some twine up the chimney and hope they take.

I wondered about this on my own build. Ask ten people you get ten answers. Since I used the same burners, I measured the gap on a bayou classic SP10 at my LHBS and went with that. It was about 4" I recall. I figured the manufacture of burners should know a little bit about it.
