    Yeast left out

It will be fine if you're just talking about it not being refridgerated for a bit. All that refridgeration does is slows the chemical processes of the yeasts, lowering their metabolisms so that they don't break down or eat/excrete themselves to death.

    detailed full mash instructions

Quite a nice, terse set of instructions and terms there. Good going.

    Water Source

Isn't gypsum used to alter the pH? While I'm asking this, does anyone have any threads on pH bookmarked? Searching for pH yields nothing because pH is too short of a search term (dumb). Thanks!

If you already had three Sanke kegs, would you still buy a cooler for a mash tun?

It's going to be a lot more than that for a good backpurged weld.

The curse of Green and clear bottles

Yes they do. You have to punch them in, but they do.

    Let's talk brewstands....

That's probably a burner for a forging furnace...

UNCLE!!! Need some advise from AG peps

You should have used water soluble flux. Go to the hardware store and find flux remover or a solvent designed to remove it.

    Thermowells

I recently bought some thermowells from St. Pat's for a set of Ashcroft thermometers. I'll be ready to start brewing probably this weekend after I finish welding my stands and weld the fittings to the kettles. The thermowells are really nice, but there's a huge gap between the thermometer probe...

    Let's talk brewstands....

Yea, I was looking at those "170k's" for a while. I ended up going with a 165k multijet from bbqguys.com. They are very nice there, and I haggled the guy down about $40 on three multijet burners and a 30psi regulator for my system. Expensive, I know, but when I was able to heat up a small garage...

need a favor: how deep in the carboy?

Glass cutter. Abrasive stone. Hydrofluoric acid. Whatever, that's easy. Neglecting the top "dome" part, the volume of a cylinder is V=pi*(d/2)^2*h, where d is the diameter of the cylinder and h is the height. Solve for h; that's h=V/(pi*(d/2)^2). You can't just plug in gallons as gallons have...

    Tap water?

What's the difference between iodophor and povidone-iodine/betadine? You all may be buying something easily available at the drug store...

    Sparger I am making

It could still be dangerous if something poisonous got into the tubing. I'd recommend getting rid of it as soon as possible! But don't throw it away...send it to me, and I will dispose of it properly ;)

    attaching bazooka screen

Is your bazooka screen's fitting threaded? Zymico's site claims that it's 1/2" MPT threaded, but that appears to be a sham, and they want you to buy their copper "fittings." If it's not threaded, is the fitting copper? What is this 'regulator' that you speak of on your pot?

    Sparger I am making

Yep. The use of lead is probably illegal in a lot of places for new plumbing...plus it just wouldn't sell. Everything that I have is tin.

    3/4" Stainless Coupler

I got my thermowells in, and the thermometers fit nicely, but there is a larger gap between the wall and the probe than I thought there would be, so I will need a lot of thermally conductive paste/gel. I've heard of graphite+glycerine being used. What did you use?

Just made an immersion wort chiller

Not to jack your thread, but... I'll be making a chiller as well this week. I have the option of either suspending it or letting it sink to the bottom. If I suspend it, I can either buy another lid for the keg kettle that will hold it from the top, or I can weld in two more stainless bungs on...

    4th Keg, Ideas?

Water reservoir. Depending on your system, you could recirculate water through it with a pump and not waste water...at least get the wort and keg o' water near temperature equlibrium and then finish it off with a fresh flow of cold water from the garden hose. (I'm sort of a conservationist...)...
