Lived 9 years in the Pacific NW (Seattle, which is a good two hours north but spent a good chunk of summer in Portland/Tigard) and it is honestly some of the prettiest country I've ever seen. But, man, you have hot to make peace with the clouds. The winter gray is deadly depressing. Fortunately...
Since you don't know what is in the can, it's tough to guess on the result if you throw them together. In my Mr. Beer days I did several two-can recipes. If you want an IPA from this! you could treat the Classic Light as almost like an adjunct, but consider buying an additional ounce of hops and...
I'm surprised you can't get it in MI if I can get it in NY.
It's on the taps in my old LA bar. I'd have (or so) at the end of every shift. Best IPA I've ever had.
I didn't know that, but it explains why I like Weller so much. Pappy is just, well the best damn bourbon I've ever had! I like the 20yo slightly more than the 23yo, though by the slightest of margins.
Here's an interesting link on the interconnectedness of bourbons...
Pro tip:
Evan Williams, usually situated on the bottom or next to bottom shelf is the exact same bourbon as Elijah Craig. Same mash, different age. For the money, an excellent common bourbon.
However, I have to agree that Eagle Rare is superb. :mug:
Asked the local beer store (not to be confused with my LHBS) to let me know when Pranqster comes in so I can get a couple bottles. I want to harvest the yeast for a belgian I'm planning.
Tested the first bottle of Cascade SMaSH: after one week I expected mostly flat, but it had a fair amount...
I worked in a place that had Bootlegger's Old World Hefeweizen on tap - one of the best American made hefs I've ever had. Sometimes a person would order it, I'd put it in front of them, and they'd say, "Where's the orange slice?"
Usually my snotty answer was, "Well, we don't like to ruin our...
Great suggestions, but I think the best suggestion is "screw that; don't use them"
I think I'll have a go at turning them into drinking glasses.

Just finished a test bottle of my Stone Clone Smoked Porter. Still needs about a week of carb, but yummy now!! Can't wait to crack the chipotle infused version of same (I pulled a gallon out of the batch to infuse, so no testing those).

Removed labels from about two dozen bottles then bottled a SMaSH Pale Ale. Popped a Smoked Porter I bottled two weeks ago to see how it's coming. Seems to be carbing fine, one more week then down to the cellar. Tastes great, even semi flat.
Oh, and moved the bottles out of the guest bedroom in...
I have a couple of Stone bombers that I'd like to reuse. It would be great to get the Stone labeling off, but instead of paper those arrogant bastards paint the info on. Anyone had any success in scrubbing that stuff off?

Second gravity reading of SMaSH pale ale holding steady at 1.011, so dropped 2oz Cascade in for aroma. My first SMaSH, and absolutely my best pale yet. I'm being converted to the idea of simple beer.

I made a Fat Tire clone where I goofed my calculations and ended up with an OG of .029 and FG of .008. ABV of 2.75%.
And yet: totally drinkable. It is not exactly sweet, but the fact that the ABV is so low changes the viscosity and perception of sweetness somewhat. My wife and I call it "Beer...
Rough one. Hope popping a beer afterward helped.
Some years ago, when I was still using a Mr. Beer kit, I was adding priming sugar straight into the bottles (as per Mr. Beer's instructions) before filling. I was about halfway through bottling the beer when my wife walked into the kitchen...
